Trying these for the first time. We’ve all done the going, going, gone dance with picks. These aren’t heavily textured, just kind of a matte finish to them. I was expecting sand paper, but the matte on these is just enough to make them easier to keep in position. I’ll be buying more.

I have been a fingers bass player for years, but recently thought I would try a pick, especially for fast songs. I use a jazz 3 for guitar, but found it too small and stiff for bass. All of the other picks I tried were too big. These were not only a happy medium size-wise, but the material gives an excellent gripping surface as well.

Ever since I found these gator grip picks in the 58mm size they have been on my rig as a staple I always carry. they have a great response not too heavy or too light, I don’t always play with a pick, but when I do, if I am chicken picking ( playing with my fingers and a pick), or just strumming with the pick this is my preference on both acoustic and electric guitars. I needed a pick that I could that wouldn't slip so much while you're playing. The coating on the pick is slightly rubberized and enables me to hang onto my pick. I was a bit worried how it would diminish the sound of the guitar, but it didn't hinder the sound at all. I will be buying more soon, and try out different gauges.

I loved these picks when I first tried them. The only issue I had was the sound is a little muted compared to ultex. This was an issue that was easily remedied by digging in a little more, which is easier because the grip is great. Especially for sweaty beasts like myself. The problem arises after a few weeks of play. If you play a couple hours, or more, per day like I do, the pick wears out. The tip warps, frays, and twists. I ran out of picks a while back and now the blue pick I loved looks like something I bought as a specialty item. The tip looks like the marker from dead space. Great picks, but the durability isn't comparable to other materials.

I've been using Dunlop 60mm nylons for years and they still slip around in my fingers,so I thought I would give these a go.That Gator ain't got much grip.They slip around even worse than my nylons and aren't nearly as flexable with even more pick noise.

I keep the picks and use them for long periods of time. Certainly, they get filed, but they still play good.
Your general opinion of this product.
These are good quality picks for an affordable price. I have used Dunlop plectra for more than three years and they do not let me down. So far, I have not found any better picks than these. I have always used the (purple) 1.14-mm tortex, but now am also using the (blue) 1.14-mm gator grip.
I have also used the thickest of the gator grips in the past. They are cool if you like it thick'

Great picks for shredders!
It's a little big to me, but I've been using Jazz III's for a while.
They've got a warm tone if you don't angle them much. If you angle them too much, they sound waaaayyyy too scratchy.
The powder on them absorbs sweat so they are extra easy to hold through long gigs
They slip over the strings like a dream if you don't use too much. When you use too much, though, they grab the strings BAD!
