I ordered this EVH Flanger as a scratch and dent special and it looks brand new out of the box. This is one of the classic EVH pedals to have to get that EVH tone. You can dial in your own tone or hit the EVH button for Eddies settings. I have been using it non stop since I added it to my pedal board.

The MXR EVH117 Flanger is that Unchained tone without having to dial it in. Set the flanger to your own setting and with a push of a button you have the authentic EVH Unchained tone. This pedal finished out my EVH pedalboard and completed my EVH set of effect pedals. If your a hardcore Eddie fan this pedal is a must!

I love this flanger, it has a nice clean swoosh for a deeper tone. you will not be disappointed. i generally set it on the EVH setting when playing with high gain, and switch it back to manual when using clean tones.

Ive now completed all the Evh pedals, but have to say the flanger tops the list! So many intricate features this pedal does!
I think Eddie did an amazing job of bringing forth his tones to pedals to emulate his sound, and even push the boundaries of what you can do with your own sounds! Set your levels to 3 o’clock and go from there tweaking! See ya!

Really enjoying this pedal. As always, MXR delivers a solid build and a great looking pedal. Love the EVH button as it gets me right to Unchained, Hear About It Later! Bit of a power hog, so get the 18V adapter or use a power brick! Very satisfied with this flanger.

This is my favorite flanger on earth, it is very customizable with its 4 knobs but the EVH preset button is the best! It gets you that unchained sound instantly and it sounds great with high gain and chugging on the low string. Love it!

I can't really say about the newer MXR pedals yet, as I don't have enough and if you have read this review, you know why I am skeptical to comment on it, but my older MXR stuff was built like a tank and lasted very long.
Well, the first one was broke out of the package, and I have only had the new one about 3 weeks, but no problems with it yet.
Your general opinion of this product.
Ok, The first one I got had a broken light for the EVH function and it came from the factory like that, so I had to send it back which was a pain. I have been hearing some bad things about Dunlop\MXR lately as far as the QC so I hope this isn't an indication of things to come with future purchases from them.
The new one Arrived and I have had no probles with it and it sounds great! You have to buy an adapter for it though as it eats batteris in about 45 minutes and after about a half hour, it doesn't sound as good on the batteries.

The tone on this thing is thick and smooth.
The paint job on the EVH flanger is slightly diffrent from the EVH phase 90, it seems to have some sort of clear coat on it that shows a lot of blemishes. but what the heck, you are going to be stepping on the thing anyway.

QUALITY:
Built like a tank! Small problem getting the batteries to fit, but after a little alteration it was fine. Should last me for years.
FEATURES:
Love the EVH button! Instant "Unchained" tone.
EASE OF USE:
Just plug it in and go. With just four knobs to dial in, it's not difficult to get a great tone right from the start.
VALUE:
At just twenty dollars more than the regular MXR117 Flanger, I consider it a excellent value for the money. Plus, it just looks COOL!
SOUND:
Sound is excellent! Much better than my old yellow flanger from the 80's. Hook up a tube screamer and rip-it!

QUALITY:
I waited months for this to come out..... not very pleased now that i have it. It needs TWO 9 volt batteries to power the unit. I could live with this. BUT They DO NOT FIT IN THE PEDAL!!!! You can not put the battery cover plates back on the pedal with batteries in the unit. And the batteries lay DIRECTLY ON TOP OF THE CIRCUIT BOARD.
When you plug your guitar/instrument cable into the unit you will notice that you have hit something...THE BATTERIES!!!!! The case is WAY TO SMALL for the contents PLUS NOBODY including AMS carries the AC ADAPTER!!!! DUNLOP ECB-004 AC ADAPTER It needs an 18 volt adapter I am not pleased with this purchase
FEATURES:
Same controls as the 70's unit, with the addition of the Unchained switch. Should come with the ADAPTER that nobody sells
