this thing is so universal with sounds ranging from jazz to blaring heavy metal (if you add a distortion pedal or amp gain)

This thing is a BEAST! i could throw this thing onto the pavement and it would still work. the tones produced are amazing, universal and dynamic.

So much more control of amp tone. And the frequency selections are excellent for guitar.
Reliability:
I've owned one for over a year now with no problems. It gets packed, set up and played weekly.

Heavy for its size.

Sliders have plenty of resistance to hold settings when packed away and foot switch is responsive and rugged.

MXR Rips the competition!
Sound:
The tone of the pedal is amazing. Adds some bite to your guitar.. It is essential to getting your desired signature sound.
Reliability:
Tough as nails, road ready and durable, the pedal is built to last years and years of on-stage or rehearsal stomping.
Overall:
The MXR M108 Ten Band Equalizer Pedal is your best bet to clean up your guitar tone, and add a little chunk, mids, or high's to your overall sound.
Playability and Feel:
Playability is great, hook on to your chain and go, be sure to do research and mess around with where you place the pedal in your chain gang!!! Or you may end up putting blame on the pedal out of ignorance.
Tone:
Crystal clear, bright and snappy, or dark and smooth.. the choice is yours with MXR 10 band!
Finish:
The cosmetics of the pedal was mint out of the box.
Action:
The action is terrific, very quick, and clear.

Should have been my first pedal

It is very well made.
Sound:
Tone is just what I dial in, with low noise. I like to taper off some treble on my Strat and add some of it back with this pedal.
Reliability:
I have only had this a few weeks, so I can't address reliability. It's always plugged in when I play, so it's getting a lot of use.
Overall:
Overall, I'm very pleased. I always thought my amp (Trademark 60) got me 90% "there." I wanted just a little more of a sweet, sustaining treble though. I run this EQ pedal in the effects loop and get the sound I always wanted.
Playability and Feel:
Response is immediate. I sense no lag/delay when I strike a note.
Finish:
Finish is first rate. The paint is thick and firmly attached. You'd need a grinder to get some of it off.
Action:
Action feels solid and dependable. The lighted EQ sliders are easy to see and adjust.

Quality:
Well made product. I highly recomend this EQ to boost your tube amp sound. I didn't bought a tube amp to add a distortion pedal to it to make it sound heavier come on. That's my opinion, I respect the people that dislikes tube amps.
Sound:
This EQ makes my Carvin X-100B sound like a furious metal amp. I was using the pedal the wrong way but I hooked it up to the effects loop and it just turned my Carvin into a glorious metal sound amp. The amp sounds awesome by itself but a lot of people says that it is not intended for heavy rock but just add one of this little guys on and you will see!!!!!

Awesome. I pretty much just boost the mids and the gain and use it for solos.
Reliability:
So far so good.
Overall:
I love this thing. I play a Gibson Angus Sig Sg through a Blackheart Handsome Devil tube amp. I kick in the MXR eq for solos and lead.
