This is the second Micro Amp I’ve owned. I use it in my signal chain as a boost for solos and other augmentation. It doesn’t muddy the tone and the gain section isn’t noisy. It’s pretty versatile too. You can add it to just about anywhere in your signal chain - preferences vary, but it would be hard to go wrong. If your looking for a boost - the MXR Micro Amp is a great choice!

This pedal is my new "Always On", "Can't Play Without" pedal. I use a Fender Princeton and this not only makes my clean tone come to life, I leave it on going into my drive pedals. It provides a great fullness to your tone and just brings it to life. When I turn the pedal off, I can't believe that is how my rig used to sound. Get one today.

If you know what you want and if you know how to attain that “sound” then this lil’box will deliver the goods! A clean boost, sure, no problem but reinforcing an overdriven amp, well, it’s awesome, in conjunction with my current pedal board. I love it!

As with all Dunlop-MXR pedals this one comes with their commitment to quality build and tone. The Micro Amp adds just the right amount of boost when needed with warm tones, rich harmonics, clarity and transparent on the signal chain. Used with overdrive, fuzz, or distortions or with just the amp's gain you will love the added boost of your guitar's tone!

Seems durable, although I'm not sure if the on/off switch is as durable as in years' past

Perfect transparent (clean) solo boost when used in effects loop. It must be used in FX Loop for a solo boost
Like I mentioned, it it transparent and does not color tone...what goes in comes out...just louder

Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
Since this pedal is just going to dit on my pedalboard I don't think there will be any durability issues. MXR stuff is made solid but I have heard some complaints about the switch, jacks and board all being one piece.
VALUE:
Totally worth it.
SOUND:
I use mine as a buffer to drive a long cable and there is a definite difference when I have it switched off. The change in sound is most notable on clean tones. Brighter, more vibrant tone when switched on - dull when off. Also works great to juice the front end of an amp but I don't use in that capacity.
