This is a great pedal that tunes up and down to give lots of different sounds. An internal battery allows it be used in many different places with needing it's power supply.

Fantastic… the eq feature in this lets you dial in everything from a clean sound with a little crust around the edges to an almost full on muff fuzz. Very natural sounding gain… even ona solid state amp!

Excellent open tone OD pedal that retains your guitar's original voice. Definitely in the OD range and not a distortion pedal. Plays well slamming the front of my tube amps and works great combined with a TS808 for higher gain. Also works well with bass if you boost the lows and cut highs.

I bought the EHX Crayon for a low-gain overdrive on my worship band pedalboard. I've had it for a couple weeks now, so I'm still getting to know the pedal. But it was very easy to dial in a nice low-gain tone for what I needed right away. The Bass and Treble controls definitely help me dial in the right tone to accommodate my guitar and amp setup. I've also found some nice higher gain tones I like as well. The Crayon has definitely added more color to my tone pallet at a very affordable price.

I wanted to add a crisp overdriven tone to my sound at lower volume settings and the Electro-Harmonix Crayon is exactly what I needed! I have an old DOD FX53 Classic Tube pedal that I've used for years which is decent, but a little too muddy and fuzzy sounding for what I wanted. With the E.H. Crayon I am able to dial in precisely the ideal tone, regardless of which guitar I'm using. With the Volume, Gain, Bass, and Treble controls provided, everything you need is at your fingertips and very intuitive and responsive. This is a solid, well made pedal which should last for many years. I've been searching for a long time for the Holy Grail of tone, and now I've found it!

I bought this pedal about a week ago from American Musical to give my new Blackstar Artisan 10AE a little more Dirt. It achieves this really well... having both treble and bass knobs really opens up the tonal possibilities unlike a lot of overdrive boxes that only have a tone knob... it makes my 10 watt Blackstar Artisan go from a low gain amp into a medium to high gain amp... I can’t stop playing my new amp and the Crayon is the reason why! If you’re on the fence about buying another overdrive pedal don’t be! It’s a great deal here too at $62 bucks! I shopped around and they definitely have the best deal on it right now... it’s also built really well and you don’t lose any gain or tone when it’s not engaged... If I could give it more than 5 stars I would :)

Press buy. It does not have the clean signal bleed like the tube screamer but keeps the clarity and punch.
