So I have owned and used quite a few powered speakers and these are definitely the best build and sound quality. I have used Mackie and JBL in the recent past both were good and slightly lighter than these but the sound quality is far beyond what Mackie and JBL are putting out. I love them and if you want good sound quality and durability along with convenience of powered speakers get these.

This Full Range 1500W Power Speaker is a must have item for anyone seeking the ideal sound of perfection. Whether indoors or outside you can not beat the quality sound. I switched over from "passive" to "power" sound for nearly 5 years or more and now I refuse anything else. EV to me is definitely TOP of the line in sound quality. I bought 2 of these to go with my 2 EKX powered 18’s that I had purchased previously and they sound amazing together. Now I have 2 ZLX powered 15’s for smaller gigs and I have the Evolve 50’s for larger gigs and now I have the EKX powered 18’s and 15’s for when I need more sound. I've had a pair of these for a little over a week so I can't honestly speak on durability, but they seem to be built like a tank. The Sound is Rich and Full. Plenty of clean crisp volume. Programming is easy and factory presets are pretty nice. Two drawbacks I've experienced are: 1. They are heavy. If you're not a young buck, have a helper, and 2. the fan is noticeable when idle. When I'm singing through them I don't hear the fan. So far, I like them a lot and think I'm going to enjoy them.

This speaker packs everything you need in a DJ speaker. Lots of features and lots of power. I went with this speaker because you can do many gigs without a sub. It definitely has bass and plenty of head room. They are a bit heavy but this is what you get when you use a good 15" active speaker. Just make sure you have a cart. Trust me when you hear what comes out of these thing you will forget the weight. Money well spent

The sound on these speakers can handle 100 guests easily with good warmth (low end) The ELX’s are not rugged enough for the road. My opinion on the open bottom ev speaker covers are another pointless purchase for the road. Get totes from a bag manufacturer such as Odyssey, Gator, etc. They will extend the look and overall exterior from wear and tear.

Nice sound, good volume. I only received a "limit" display when I yelled super loud on the mic. Did not need a lot of power, so that was super nice.. the built in cross over is great I set it to club and matched my 15p EKX SUBS.. I only took off a star for wishing it was 5 to 10lbs lighter. It wouldn't let me do a half a star. That's what I would really give it 4 1/2. I've only used the unit once for a 5 hour gig in a room that fits about 700.. Sounded very strong

I was waiting for something that was sturdy and solid with great sound. I was blown away at the price point on these as well as what the product is actually capable of doing.
We set up the EKX 15" speakers and the low's and high's are incredible. We also have the EKX 18" SP subs so the the EKX 15" speakers that I purchased from American Musical flowed in perfectly.
The speakers have a built in EQ, if you have the subwoofers you can tell the 15" speakers you have subwoofers and the speakers will automatically adjust and remove most of the low end from the speakers to let the subwoofers do their job. The speakers are a little heavy for me but they are well worth the money. If you are a DJ or have band and are looking for clarity and power these are where you need to be. 5 stars on appearance, sound, price point and it's easy to set up and use.

The only thing that keeps this speaker from getting 5 stars from me is the coating. I've been a JBL guy for over 20 years, but when I heard Samsung was buying JBL and the fact that I was disappointed with sound of the PRX 715 vs my old PRX 615 I had to weigh my options. Scary! I sold my JBL's and went with the EKX, and I'm glad I did. They are not as harsh as my JBL's, but still have plenty of volume. I liked them so much I ordered the matching 18 inch subs. They should be here this week. My fears were squashed by how much I love the sound of these speakers. My only regret so far is not going with the ETX. Put a stronger coating on these speakers and I just may be a EV guy for the rest of my career.

I love these speakers. The bass is fantastic. The overall sound is amazing. I had some Alto 600 watt speakers and thought they where loud but these blow them away! Excellent sound and clarity.

These speakers sound outstanding. I previously owned a pair of the Zlx 51ps and loved them however they limited a bit early for me at the bigger events and I needed a bit more headroom. These are just the ticket. Used them for a few gigs and they are much louder also a bit bigger aND weigh more but worth it. I would highly recommend them.

I have owned many speaker and many brands of speakers, EV is on top of the Live Sound world right now. I spent months listening to different speakers from JBL,QSC,YAMAHA, and Mackie, The EV EKX15P is by far the best sounding speaker, it screams SPL and is crystal clear.
I do all kinds of events including block parties, while I would never do an outdoor event without a Subwoofer these things deliver good bass if you had to use it in a jam or couldn't afford to use a sub with them. I parter them up with the EKX18P and it's like you are at a concert... Had several loud noise compaints.
Here is my breakdown of why I didn't select the others.
JBL-Great bass but sounds a bit muddy and unrealistic
QSC-Sound decent but not loud enough
YAMAHA-Sounds good but also not loud enough
MACKIE-They don't stack up to the big boys
Hope this helps, I know a good review is hard to find. Love EV, Must Buy...

Been using the ZLX powered 12's and 15's for mains and monitors, along with the ELX 118 subs. Compared to the Mackie SRM speakers that kept failing me, these are amazing and reliable for the money...decided to move up to the EKX15P speakers for the mains, almost twice as expensive as the ZLX, WOW!! Durable finish on them, pretty light weight for a 1500 watt 15" 2 way, and DEFINITELY a noticable difference in sound quality, just used them on an outdoor gig at Hangar 24 Brewery in Redlands, CA, about 200 people there, lots of talking going on, and EVERYONE said the vocals came through the mix sounding PRISTINE!! I cannot wait to use these at our next show, and my drummer was happy to get one of the ZLX15 for his drum wedge, which BTW, handles the kick drum just fine.....I am 52, been gigging since age 19, and, as a gear whore, I have experienced many brands of speakers......
The Electro-Voice EKX Speakers have been my BEST investment ever!!

I bought these Speakers as an Upgrade from The EV ZLX Series and let me tell you they are worth it! Much Louder than The ZLX series as expected, I will say I have not had much time to experiment with the Eq's, but I can say these boxes are all EV. Great sound, best looking speakers on the market today and superb power.

I've done my homework on all of the other 15" powered cabinets, and decided to go with these EKX 15Ps. Absolutely impressive! These things can scream high SPLs, while maintaining crystal clear sound, and producing warm, hard-hitting base frequencies. They are very well built, fit and finish is beautiful. You could step up to the ETX's and get a little more power, a little more headroom , but honestly these EKXs are plenty powerful for any DJ gig application I would use them for. For extremly large functions, you could add the subs, but you probably will not need tops that are any louder than these guys. And right at the $900 range, it's definitely worth every penny!

Power,clearity and portability is key when it comes to live performance. Durability is also important. Electro Voice has it all. I have a pair of EV mains with a 15 and a horn that are over 20 years old and still sound incredible. How is that for durability.
