I've been beating them up for about 6 months now, no issues yet General Your general opinion of this product. I LOVE these. I put them into my ESP K-500 that previously had an 81/85 set. The 81 tends to have a thin, slightly razor/laser-ish sound. The Het's are not an updated 81. They are their own unique animal. They have a sharp pick attack, with a growly, throaty type of tone, that does not get muddy. I guess "sharp warmth" is a good description. What a difference these things make. PERFECT for metal, and the neck pickup sounds rediculous on the clean channel. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? N/A Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Sharp but throaty, not muddy at all. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The chromed nickel finish looks killer against my guitars satin black paint. Action How was the action out of the box? Popped right in, was playing them in 10 minutes.

The installation was somewhat problematic: the pots aren't quite long enough to make it through a 15 year old Les Paul 100 so I had to get rid of some washers to make it work.
