Subject:Good speaker
Quality: Looks to be well made.
Reliability: Just received it but it should last.
Overall: Very efficient speaker. Plays just a little louder than my JBL D120 that I matched it up with. Tone Tubby makes a BOMB cab that has a ceramic and alnico speaker in the cab. The 2 complement each other well. JBL is a bit mellower and the Rex adds some brightness without shrillness.
Playability and Feel: Good sound. Will know more after a break-in period. I have some Tone Tubbys also and these are close.
Tone: Nice overall tone.
Finish: Good quality.
Action: Very efficient.

Subject:Can Rex be topped- I don't think so!
Quality: very solid. everything fits, quality control is excellent
Reliability: I just got it, but it is an Eminence speaker, after all
Overall: I bought it to replace the original speaker in my older Fender Champ 12. I was hoping that the specs were right and the SPL rating was accurate, because I want to squeeze every bit of tube-soaked volume out of the amp. It is noticeably louder and way tighter than the old speaker.
Playability and Feel: great, tight response. handles overdrive very well. clean is a dream
Tone: a bit darker and smoother than the orignal speaker
Finish: first-rate
Action: screw it in, hook it up, light up the tubes. Presto! Magnifico!
Skill Level: Semi-Pro
