I received this bass and immediately noticed that a strap button was not there, nor was it even there before. It was also missing some screws. I liked the variety of tones that this bass offered and the pick ups were great. Tone was very dark and heavy. Your general opinion of this product. Did not seem well made. Right away you'll notice: It's heavy! If you're using a strap the head-stock will dip down. After about 10 minutes of band practice my neck and shoulder were sore. Also the design of the body, while very stylish and unique, made it impossible to hit anything past the 21st fret I believe. Also constantly slipped if placed on a stand. Very heavy but not much else from there The paint job was stunning! Surprisingly it was excellent...

For the price I paid, this is a very well made bass. It is a very simple design so I can't see it having any dependability problems. The sound is undoubtedly the best feature of the Thunderbird IV. I would change the strap anchor placement. It has a nice tone that is perfect for punk, hard rock or metal. My 5 string Ibanez doesn't produce the lows that this does. It is very easy to play. The fast neck is a plus, but the reverse style body makes it hard to hit notes below the 13th or 14th fret (if you play there). The placement of the strap anchors is counter-intuitive, leading to neck dive if you take your hand off the neck. A thick leather strap should remedy this or you could change the strap anchor position to a better place, maybe behind the body. The pickups sound great for humbuckers. The tone is smooth and consistent, with decent sustain. The stock strings are good for any style of playing (picking, slapping, etc) The finish is nice. It doesn't appear to dent or scuff like other basses I have. It is not a polished finish so it doesn't show fingerprints. The action was a little high out of the box. However, the bridge design allows you to make string height adjustments by simply using a flathead screwdriver. It was also way out of tune out when I first took it out of the box.

Yes very good quality. Made really well. A bit neck heavy but can live with it. The whole thing is very good love it. It has a very heavy and hard hitting tone. Great for metal or any other kind of music. Playability is very easy and comfortable. The neck is a bit thicker than my other bass but very easy to play. It is snappy and dark. The pick ups are very hot very fast with out hesitation. Will say have to watch the volume on this one will make your ears bleed if not careful LOL. Wonderful paint job. Love the flat black finish and the celtic cross on the pick guard really adds to the look. The action was fanominal. Sounds better than my Ibanez.

It was made well. It looks cool It sounds OK, nothing amazing. It is neck heavy, it is not a good bass if you are not tall and skinny. If you got a belly stay away from this bass, the neck was ok on it, pretty easy to use it can get decent tones, OK. I had to lower it

I think this is one of the best quality basses I've had the chance to play. I'm a Schecter guy myself but, I love the feel of this guitar. The flat body and low action are a nice touch to this bass. The only thing is it is neck heavy. other than that, This is a bass you can't pass up. I was actually surprised at the tones it was able to produce. I played so many different basses that were over the $299 price tag this had and none could produce the rumble this did. Bit heavy like I said before but, this bass has a fast neck. Compared to most basses this has the capability to be bright and snappy or dark and smooth. I love the finish. No fingerprints. The action was smooth and the neck is very fast.

Seems like it will hold up for awhile, It feels pretty solid. Well, It has some volume knobs and a tone knob, That's pretty much it. The sounds can go from deep to bright with a few tweaks. This Bass is VERY neck heavy, Especially compared to my Ibanez EDB 700, But with just playing it for an hour I got used to it. The action is good and fast. Dark and smooth, Just the way I like it. Just plain flat black, Doesen't show fingerprints and looks good. Good and smooth.

This bass is built of quality, its killer, its a rock n roll bass Nothing special about it to be honest, two volume n a tone control, no spectacular features but what an incredible sound Well it gives off a true "thump", which is what i need. I played the Nikki Sixx blackbird, and own it, and thats my number one, but i didnt wanna beat the heck out of it, so i got this one Plays great, flat black body gives an amazing feel to it, not heavy even though some people consider t-birds 2 be neck heavy Dark, thumpy , good bang for your buck, again, nothing 2 me beats the nikki sixx blackbird, but this is up there, for 300 bucks, buy it and beat the mess out it playin, it can withstand the punishment Great paint job, the satin flat black makes it easy to hold n "glide" to wherever your heart desires no trouble there, everything i buy from ams is always gr8

Very solid bass I love the tone from this bass The tone is thick. I don't want to put it down. Neck heavy but with a good strap it's stays put. I love the finish and the neck is fast. Its a little thin compared to what I've been use to but thats not a problem. Dark, smooth to bright. Great thick tone just like the Gibsons. Great pickups!! Love it Action was a little high for my taste but was fixed easily.

sorry epiphone but i need to be honest ....this bass sucks! i thought it would rock according to other reviews but when i recieved mine it was total garbage. i was going to play it at a holloween night show and i was pleased when it arrived that day utill i opend the box and the first thing i saw was the warped neck! the strings were strappeds against the neck from the savere bowing.i know that these things can happen but is there no quality controll? who let this slip by inspection? i was very disapointed. I have a epi goth paul and it is great . besides the warped neck this thing felt to me like a cardboard cut out not a real bass.i cuold not play it because of the neck so i dont know how it sounded. what a pile!!! warped neck warped neck warped neck warped neck!! warped neck!! warped neck(looked like the saint louis arch)

Epiphone never ceases to amaze me with the quality instruments they produce. This bass seems to be built like a tank. THe pickups sound great. It holds it's tune. Sits comfortably and stands comfortably. Mahogany body:) Your general opinion of this product. I love this bass. Out of the box it was set too low, after a quick adjustment on the bridge I was a happy bassist. I have read in some reviews that this bass is heavy towards the headstock and it is, but only if you are using a smaller strap. Invest in a nice wide leather strap and you'll feel like you're holding a guitar and not a large bass. The neck is thick enough without being chunky and the fretboard has the perfect amount of real estate for my long and slender hands. This bass is great in the low end department and with a few tweaks on the volume (you have two) knobs and tone you can get a a multitude of sounds from dark and dreary to something like bright and cheery. MMMM matte black with black hardware. If only the pickguard didn't have that iron cross thing on it. As i said earlier, I had to raise her up a bit to suit my tastes but other than that she was beautiful. Of course I would play around with just about any instrument I buy to get it to what I prefer.

Beastly tone and sustain

Put together well, very solid piece. Neck is true, the bridge is kinda weird but I could care less as it sounds great and plays great. Your general opinion of this product. Love it. Great piece of work, I am really stunned by how nice this is. Of course, price is a consideration - this isn't a $3000 bass, it's $300. I would place it in the $700-type range. I'd expect this price to go up at some point. I was looking for the Tobacco Burst and/ or that Blue one, as I am by no means a "Goth" guy - not that there's anything wrong with that. But if you're shopping the Epi T-Birds definitely give the Goth a chance. The Mahogany body makes a HUGE difference in the sound and for me, the Goth is clearly superior to the rest of the family. Maybe that Nikki Sixx model is hotter - *shrug* - I didn't try it (couldn't find one, first of all, and anyway, that bass's looks are just *way* not me). Smooth and Light, believe it or not. The matte finish really lets you glide on the neck. Like all T-Birds, it's neck heavy. You'll want to mod it by adding a new straplock behind the neck (just google for the fix). In my case, I installed the new lock into the body, actually, right where the neck meets it, slightly left of center. This corrects the neck drop 100% and this is now easily one of the best balanced basses I own and is easy on my olda** back. Good range. Bright and snappy, pick ups are HOT; mahogany body is different from the other Epi T-Birds - sustain forever and really punchy tones can be dialed in. Playing through an Ashdown 300 MAG and am really able to get all manner of great sounds, from classic rock to punchy pop/ punk. Matte finish looks great. Fabulous! Kudos to #12 @ Epiphone. There's a little bit of buzz but I don't really care - it plays great.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
The hardware on the bass is very cheap and weak, which sux but somewhat minor, if you think about the whole package, ya know. very basic, you get what you paid for kinda thing, cheap qualities made very well. I have a problem adjusting the pickups heights, one of the screws won't move a all, very frustrating! like i said cheap components

FEATURES:
love the maghony body, unlike the regular looking epi t-birds which are made from alder wood, the gothic t-bird like its big brother, Gibson t-bird, both have maghony bodies. The humbuckers are alot more versatile than you would expect... and the pickups on the goth tbird is also different than the normal colored tbirds... Which again the goth model has better pickups than the normal colored tbirds, i did my homework and research this stuff! I also love the finger board, the color is alot darker than the other tbirds and i love the no markers just all bare except for the roman # at the 12th fr

Your general opinion of this product. I love everything about this bass. I've played a couple shows with it, and i'm in love. It only has two minor flaws: The balance is a little weird because of the huge head, and it doesn't have 24 frets...I got over both of these after a couple times playing it...it's like butter

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
The product was made well. It was kinda dependable. The finish was cool and there weren't any loose parts. I expect it to last for a while around 1/2 year-1 year. The worst quality was the looks. 4.

FEATURES:
The best feature to me was the sound through my Ibanez 20 watt amplifier. The least impressive features to me are, like I said, the looks. i would add a pick guard. No accessories. 4.

EASE OF USE:
It was very easy to use and easy with my amp and other bass (fender mustang). It was easy to learn how to use it and the manual was a little helpful. It is very playable and fun to use. 5

VALUE:
It was worth the price. Yes, I would consider the price worth compared to similar products. i wouldn't pay more for it because the price was perfect for it. 4.

SOUND:
It was a clean, nice pitch through an amp. It had a great sound quality, very clean. Nice and clean. Yes. With my Ibanez 20 watt amplifie

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
Awesome body shape, nice Schaller tuners and the two ceramic pickups give you a wide range of tones. Don't be afraid to beat the heck out of it live; it'll just get better looking with time.

FEATURES:
The neck is nice, if a bit on the heavy side. Thicker than an Ibanez or Jackson, but easier to handle than a Fender or Ernie Ball. The finish is jaw-dropping gorgeous.

EASE OF USE:
Caution: the strap buttons are on the small side, so I reccomend using this with a new strap or one that isn't worn down and can still grip; especially for the one above the neck. Also be careful with the input jack since it's on the top/front side. Don't step on your own cable while performing 'cause it'll mess up your input instead of letting the cable simply pop out. This is great for rockers who like to sling it low. The Thunderbird's topside groove is well suited to rest the heel of your hand while fingerpicking.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
ok heres the real deal with thunderbird. its awesome. the wood for the neck is made up of maghogany and the body is made out of maple not my favortie choice of wood but its badass. the sound quality is overall the best i have ever incountered. it fits all types of basses out there so if you like rock or metal or death metal or black metal or even punk its works with all of them.

FEATURES:
the features of the bass are in plain sight you got your emg pickups and three knobs. two of the three are for volume and the other one is for tune. and the bridge is raised up a bit which is better for slap action.

EASE OF USE:
its very easy to use. the bridge is higher then most bass out there. so its easier in my opion on the hands .

VALUE:
its worth more then i paid for.

SOUND:
it fucking rocks in sound quality its pure and evil.
