Product Rating Product Review I have tried the Epiphone Thunderbird before. It really is a horrible Bass. Due to the PUP's and Fretboard. I say this because I swore I would never waste my money on an Epi. Well This version of the Thunderbird is so much better. It has the original TB PUP's and the neck felt slimmer. I have a Gibson T-Bird and the classic IV Pro is just as good for 1/4th the price. The sound is there and the neck is slimmer than the cheaper Epi. 1.5 as opposed to 1.78" at the nut. It balances-no neck dive. I'm hooked on this one. It is fairly new so we'll see how it holds up over time. The fit and finish is excellent and it came set-up-I played it right out of the box.

Product Review Did some research before picking up the thunderbird classic. I waited 6 months and pulled the trigger on the sunburst model. Super happy I did. This is the best looking base and it sounds amazing. So glad that I went with the Thunderbird, all positive stuff!

Product Review I have purchased Epiphone's in the past, and not very impressed, but this bass is over the top, awesome tone, great feel. I really enjoy playing this bass, it immediately became my favorite. The pick ups delivery great tone. I would recommend it to anyone.

Product Review Great bass. I wish the American Thunderbird was more affordable. I would pay more, but not two thousand dollars.

Product Review Finally,Epiphone got the Thunderbird right,no frills,no active circuts, pickups that produce real power, neck thru the body, finish you could drown in,and a non Gibson price, very well made (made in China,so what) a excellent bass, but if you need bragging rights, then go buy the Gibson . Very well made, attention to detail, says it has USA Gibson pickups, didn't see them install them but I'll take their word for it,know they sound great Neck through the body construction, passive circuts, simple control layout ,finish Very fast neck, controls are layed out inline very easy to reach and operate The pickups are great, roll off the bridge pickup and it just goes into the deep end, fantastic, roll off the neck pickup and the bridge pickup takes you into a nice midrange growl of a old EB-3 The finish is deep enough to swim in,fantastic wood grains show through the poly finish, stunning ! I have the Sunburst model I think Epiphone played it smart keeping the price under 500.oo it will get this bass into more hands and players are going to realize what a real treat this bass is without breaking their wallet. This particular Epiphone model of the Thunderbird will give the Gibson a run for it's money,"I can hear the Gibson purist now", anyway try em both, prove me wrong, ain't my money I personally didn't have to touch the action,it was right for me and my playing style, the round wounds had to come off and a new set of flats went on,that's the only changes I needed

Product Review I've always wanted a T-bird. I tried some of the earlier Epis, but didn't like the pickups (too thin) and balance (too neck heeavy). I tried the active version - because I typically play active basses - but it didn't sound like a T-bird. Once the Pro with ceramic humbuckers came out, I knew it was my time. I've had it for a few weeks and have played 5 shows with three bands - everyone loves it. I play in a number of bands: classic rock, country, blues, bluegrass, pop, modern rock - and the T-bird fits nicely in the mix in all of them. The first night I took it out, the sound guy told me that "the thump came right out here and created a dense layer of fat tone underneath everything." The ceramic pickups make this bass. Good hardware - the bass stays in tune and the bridge is stable. The balance is good. I played another Epi T-Bird that was very neck heavy - this one is much better. That said, I went with a buck leather strap (rather than nylon) to help make sure it stays in position. The neck feels great. It seems much bigger than its 34 inch scale. The neck is fat, but comfortable. String spacing is perfect for me. Tone for miles. Deep, warm and fat - but every note is crystal clear. My live set up consists of a '98 Warwick Corvette Pro 6 string and an Ergo 5 string EUB. The T-bird is the perfect tonal compliment and, in some of the bands I play with, has become my main bass. The finish on the body is perfect. There were chips from the tip of the headstock (there prior to finishing, because they are underneath the stain and poly). I get a lot of compliments on its appearance. I'm accustomed to spending at least double of what I paid for this to get a quality instrument. This is a steal. There is a tag on the bass with a checklist - meaning that someone at the factory signed off on every stage of setup. Unfortunately the guy who signed off on "intonation" doesn't know what that means. Everything else was perfect, and it only took me a few minutes to set the intonation with a strobe tuner. Playable right out of the box.

it's cool some minor blemishes, but it's off a factory line so whatever the usa pick ups it's a rock bass fo sho deep and ballsy Your general opinion of this product. I was gonna get a standard P bass. I'm glad I went with this. NO neck dive, very light dark and smooth decent the action was nice right out the box.
