General What is your overall opinion of this product? For a semi-hollow body guitar, you won't find a better deal! The difference between this and the Dot is the controls - the Dot has separate tone and volume for each pickup, the Dot Studio has one set for both pickups. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Like all current Epiphones you may need to go through a few examples to find the best one. The ouput jack worked loose on mine and eventually a wire ame loose, took quite a bit of work to fish it out and resolder it. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Decent neck action. Controls coudl probably be a little tighter, very easy to hit a control with vigorous strumming. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? Good semi-hollow tone, can get a good body feedback going. Needed to use heavier strings with a wound G string on mine for better intonation, so tone was not as bright as I would like without adjusting the amp accordingly, but good Casino-like sound. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I got the now-discontinued faded brown vintage finish, took some getting used to compared to usual glossy ones, but unique now! Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Picked mine up used for a good price, Epi hardshell cases are available to fit perfectly. Playability How was the action out of the box? Very good, once I changed to heavier strings to get better intonation.
Cool guitar - especially for the price

General Your general opinion of this product. Been wanting a 335-ish guitar for a while and picked this up at a local music store for $199.00 because they were going out of business. Generally prefer the real gibsons but have been impressed with a lot of the latest Epiphones, so when i saw it for $100 off I went for it. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The guitar is very well made... beautiful satin faded cherry finish with black binding and black chrome hardware. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? one volume and one tone for both pickups works very well. the toggle switch can select bridge or neck pickup (or both in center). Love the center and neck pick-up tone. Sounds great especially on jazz & blues, but gives that "Beatle Casino" sound with some over-drive on rock tunes. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? great finish.. satin faded cherry with black binding and black chrome hardware
