Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This SG is well made and reminiscent of a 60's SG I had back in the day Reliability How has it stood up over time? Only had it a very short while, but I see no reason that it will hold up well General Your general opinion of this product. Looks good and plays good Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? 12in radius is great and easy to play Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? First P90 guitar in a very long time. Forgot how good these pickups sound Finish How did the stain or paint job look? No flaws in the finish Action How was the action out of the box? Had to tweak it slightly to my liking, but played well out of the box

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? For an assembled in China instrument, very good. It will get the learning of Classic Rock riffs job done. Wasn't purchased to impress anyone. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've had it one month and haven't even plugged it into an amplifier yet. It's THAT resonant! Might change tuners later but stock ones are good for now. General Your general opinion of this product. I'm primarily a bass player who plays some 6-string guitar, and I wanted something different from Strat/Tele/Les Paul, etc. I tumbled the dice and won. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Perfect neck radius, no difficulty with playability anywhere on the fretboard. May need a SLIGHT truss rod adjustment but I'll wait 'til the first string change. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Still playing it w/o an amp with the stock strings still on it. Looking at small combo amps and even headphone amps, as I'm a tentant and loud is not an option. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Only one very petty issue: Sticker on pickguard left a round "haze" but that may disappear with a good polish/polish cloth. Action How was the action out of the box? Opened the box, opened the gig bag, BOOM! After a quick tuning, I was going through the "mental jukebox" of AC/DC, Led Zep, Rush, ZZ Top, etc. riffs, only noticing a 7th-14th "fretting-out" which may improve with higher action and/or the aforementioned truss rod adjustment. Intonation was near perfect so I'll make sure replacement strings are the same gauge per the fixed intonation bridge/tailpiece.
Quality really nice, especially for the price

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The tuners are better than expected. I will be able to use them just fine as a professional. No problems at all so far, in general. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Expect to be very reliable. time will tell, just delivered 2 weeks ago. General Your general opinion of this product. I was excited to be able to afford an SG. The P90 pickups are new to me and I can now see the attraction. Clear crisp sound without the muddiness, but a little fatter than my strat single coils. the extreme light weight is nice, and new to me as well (Strats and Les Pauls I've had were heavier) Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The neck is looong. Makes my strat feel like a ukelele, but I'm fine with that - I can reach the last fret effortlessly and hit some notes for which I would otherwise not even reach. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Bright and snappy. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The finish is really great. flawless as far as I'm concerned but I don't use a magnifying glass to inspect the finish on any guitar. I've paid more $$ for slightly blemished instruments. Action How was the action out of the box? Action just fine out of the box. I tweaked a little but could have left as-is.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Solid, yet light and well balanced feeling. Fret work on neck is A+. Neck binding too is a real nice touch and very well done. Great attention to detail. No flaws, overruns, or anything at all on mine. A much thinner poly finish too than I expected. Very Happy! Reliability How has it stood up over time? Only had it a few days, but very well put together so I expect no problems. SGs are the tank of guitars (OK with exception to a good telecaster...). General Your general opinion of this product. Well, all I can say is Epiphone has improved the past few years. This guitar is a real bargain. It will please even a discerning guitarist let alone a beginner (since its priced in the beginner category). I had to tweak the set up a bit, but otherwise sounds AND LOOKS great right out of the box. What a surprise. I can see the mahogony wood grain thru the thinner poly finish (A big plus!). I opted for the TV Yellow model. A mere 5.2 Lbs in weight, well balanced, and real good tone. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? EXCELLENT as stated. Perfect neck width and radius. A bit on the chunkier side than I expected (I am happy about that bc I am not a big fan of the slim taper necks). Super job on the frets and binding. No dead spots or buzzing anywhere on this neck. Laser straight too. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? As stated above. Real Good. Been playing off and on for decades. Have owned every guitar model and brand on the planet thru the years. This SG will hold its own guaranteed. BUY IT -you will not regret it for half a second! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Great. Better than I expected. Thinner poly than I expected. NO FLAWS ANYWHERE! Action How was the action out of the box? OK, but I had to tweak for my playing style and sound a bit.
