Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It may not be premium material but it certainly isn't going to fall apart in your hands. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Never had any problems but I was always very careful with it. Overall Your general opinion of this product. The bolt-on neck means easy repair if it ever comes down to that. Action is no problem to adjust even for a novice, Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Once the action was lowered it was pretty good. Great for beginners. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Anybody looking at this style will most likely want to throw on the distortion so it's really not that big of an issue. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? There were some barely-noticeable flaws in the paint job but that's really just nit-picking. Action How was the action out of the box? Starts out really high, but the bridge and pickups are simple to adjust with basic tools.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? yes, the input jack took a dump after 30 days ibought it at g.c. so i did not even get a neck wrench, instrution manual, warranty card or a feeling that they give a s***.but i got a good price cause it had a scratch on the front and was marked down overall after i set it up put some slinky .010's on it it does sound good and seems to be put together well for a chinese guitar.i played a gibson les paul lefty at another small store it was ok but this one sounded better after i set it up correctly a lot of sustain as far as dependable we will see i got it new years day so 45 days so far i replaced the input jack with a real one and so far with a fender mustang it sounds and plays well.i'm used to playin upside down so to finally get a left handed guitar i had to learn the chords backwards all over again. Reliability How has it stood up over time? we'll see Overall Your general opinion of this product. like i said for a cheap guitar it plays well. it will get dirty or play like a telecaster Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? it feels good to me i have fat fingers and can get around it pretty good i haven't played in years because of the lefty deal so i'm geetin back into it like the feel like the locations of the controls and i use a 90 degree plug in so the cord don't get in the way Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? it will get dirty or clean with a flip of a switch the pick ups are ok but for a start up again guy i won't change em after i get in the groove again i will move up the ladder. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? nice finish but now it has a line or two down the body in the front the weather and humidity have been crazy here in okc this winter a guy at an indy dealer said they are having the same problem it's a plywood guitar after all. Action How was the action out of the box? i had to set it up neck was low action was so high you could not push the strings down to the frets at g.c. the guitar tech fooled around with it but he idid not set it up properly it took him only 10 minutes and thats after i told em to fix it. which did not happen so i did it my self it ain't brain surgery and they do that with a drill and hammer and chisel.
Great product

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? If you get a bad one....the Gibson warranty won't cover it. I had one set up by a Gibson certified tech, and the neck snapped. Gibson said it since it wasn't a break where the "seam" typically is, they refused to fix or replace it. Luckily I bought a warranty from the dealer that replaced it no questions asked. So do that, and you'll be ok. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Not well the first time....hopefully this time will be better. Overall Your general opinion of this product. The product is awesome, but buyer beware....get a warranty from the dealer (see comments below). Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It feels like a real guitar....and like guitars I have played that are 3 times the money. It feels and plays great. The pods are tight, and the switch feels solid. The Grovers rock!! Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Seems to me, with 2 volume and 2 tone knobs, you can run the gamete for just about any sound you like....but of course...the SG is the standard metal masters guitar. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Great on both....no complaints. Action How was the action out of the box? The first one I bought was too low, and the intonation was out. The second is a little high...but not bad enough to worry about, and after I put 10's on it, the intonation was perfect. So I'm happy now.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? very well made, sturdy will last a long time. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I have only had it for a month, but no probs yet, keeps tune pretty good. Overall Your general opinion of this product. I love this guitar, after setting up to your licking it will make a good adition to any collection. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? plays great, smooth, fast, neck is smooth and feels good, I don't have a prob with the neck being heavy and the controls are perfect, the only thing is the jack on the front, suggest an angled inst. cable. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Tone is a bit on the dark side, needs neck p/u raised and may even want to replace with preferential style, great for rythme rock/metal guitarist. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? this is the best fish I have ever had, you have to keep polishing it its so smooth. Action How was the action out of the box? Action was pretty good from the factory, no changes other than new strings to my preference.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This is very well made. Epiphone does a great job. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Great. The tuners get loose as well as the input jack but it's easy to yighten or cheap to replace the tuners, and you can do that cheap yourself. Otherwise every other aspect of this guitar will last a lifetime. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Good value. Economy finish. Economy Hardware. Economy price but not much more for the G400. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It feels sick!! Fast, smooth neck. A little fat but more comfortable to me than a fender. Everything is well placed and easy to find. Balanced unlike some Les Paul models. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? This guitar will definitely please the deeper metal, killer sustain, shredders, maybe not so much the more light bluesy John Mayer in you. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The finish is what it is for the price. Not fancy. Flat black/red. Polish it and it'll stay black or red. This is probably the biggest difference between this model and the G400 or Gibson's. That and the set neck. Economy. Affordable. Not Masterpiece. Action How was the action out of the box? Eh, so so. Most people say they are a little high, pickup height is fine but I like my action low.
