Best 300 bucks you will ever spend !
Quality:
High quality for 300 bucks. I can't see anyone getting a guitar of better quality for this price.
Sound:
Only have it one day, but it sounds great. Will sound even better once the factory strings are changed to better quality.
Reliability:
Solid out of the box, so I have no reason to believe it will change.
Overall:
I wanted a small acoustic to play and not worry about dinging up. Something I could take out on the deck, in the garage, and take to an outside jam instead of risking my high price Martins and Nationals. Well I like this little monster so much, I plan on getting a nice case for her. This guitar is a real surprise for the money.
Playability and Feel:
Great feel, the neck is very comfortable.
Tone:
Very snappy, chords are crisp.
Finish:
The finish is amazing, I tried to find a bad spot, and I couldn't. Did I just get lucky? or is the EPI quality control really checking these guitars?
Action:
Action is just what you would expect from a production line guitar. Not high and not low, but action is a matter of taste, so if you want it lower, take it to a good luthier and have it tweaked.

Semi-Pro

A poor man's Gibson Blues King at a real deal of a price
Quality:
pro level
Sound:
It is NOT TINNY..NOT THE ONE I GOT....Even Gibsons from the 60's have (on some models) solid spruce tops and lammed sides and back...so that is not a dealbreaker....the Epi L-00 is like that...the spruce is nicely even-grained and the back and sides have that Gibson Honduras Mahogany look even though it is laminated...BUT THE SOUND IS VERY GIBSON LIKE....it is pro all the way...and I was very very surprised. The grain on the neck (mahogany) could have been richer and more like the body...but for $300...I have to get real
Reliability:
this will last as long as i want it to
Overall:
I have always preferred the "00" size guitar for feel and looks but have always admired dreadnought thump....well, i took a chance on one of these (even though a few years back I took a chance on a Johnson J530 of similar size and also with the solid top...and did not like its cheesey sound) BUT THIS EPIPHONE HAS MORE THUMP THAN AN EPI DREADNAUGHT AND A MARTIN 000-15 THAT i HAD SEVERAL YEARS BACK....
Playability and Feel:
excellent
Tone:
rich for a smaller guitar
Finish:
excellent and authentic...I really like it
Action:
very nice neck...I took the shim out from under the saddle, ordered a Tusq nut and bridge pins from WD (they make a model that is alledgedly direct refit to the EL-00)...but I am alreay in love with the sound...I am having a Bill Lawrence A-300 soundhole pickup permanently installed and will use this for folk tunes and blues leads as well
