FOR THE MONEY, IT CAN'T BE BEAT!!!
Quality:
Very well made. I think even Pete Townsend would have have a little trouble smashing this up on the first couple of swings
Sound:
The tone is UNBELEIVABLE! I've got a Roland Micro Cube that I use at the house when I'm just jammin' around, and ALL of the different sounds and switches sound AMAZING! Heck, I don't need a Strat with this guitar, cause I can MAKE this sound just like a Strat!
Reliability:
Don't know yet. I've only had it for a couple of weeks.
Overall:
My general opinion of this guitar can be summed up real easy....IT'S A LES PAUL! Need I say more? For sound, quality, tone, etc; Les Paul says it all! I guess I'm just prejudiced. I've never owned a strat or telecaster, but I guess that's because I've always been VERY HAPPY with my Les Paul.
Playability and Feel:
I play very little lead, but I can still burn it up with rhythm. Action is pretty dang fast, maybe the mat finish does contribute to that.
Tone:
The pickups do just what they were made to do. They'll go from hot and on fire to mellow and smooth with the flip of a switch
Finish:
That's about the ONLY thing I have against this guitar. I'm just not real happy with the mat finish. I do like a guitar that shines when ya play it.
Action:
Action is fantastic right out of the box.

A beautiful Les Paul
Sound:
Great. Very nice, long sustains.
Overall:
Overall, this is a guitar I won't sell. It has great tone and the sustain is amazing. The finish is not quite as bright looking as the photos, mine is a lot darker -- maybe it needs a polish or something, not sure.

A No Frills Les Paul, Best Bang for The Buck !
Quality:
The Ebony model I purchased is solid and heavy as a "Paul" should be and the craftmanship is top notch !
Sound:
Tone is first rate, the Alnicos produce a warm and rythmic sound.
Reliability:
I've only had it for several weeks, however considering the makeup of the guitar with its solid body and set neck you can tell right out of the box this is going to last the test of time.
Overall:
This is a well made, quality instrument. Take away the binding, fancy inlays and pup covers of a higher priced model and you get that solid sounding Les Paul we all love without the cosmetics.
Playability and Feel:
This thing is built like a tank. The body and neck are solid and stil produce fast workability. The controls are smooth and easy to operate while playing.
Tone:
Tone is classic with the Alnicos and sustain is great in any switch position. I'd have to say it is very comparible with Gibson models as far as the pups go.
Finish:
The Ebony finish is beautiful. I love the solid black shine, it really stands out.
Action:
Action is pretty good out of the box however I did have it set up by a luthier and the "supertune" really did produce a great action.

Only had one week, so time will tell.
Overall:
I have rated this as a 5 star guitar, not because it is the best out there, but for the price, it it really hard to beat the quality. Price x quality = 5 star. My 10 year old son has been taking lessons for about 6 months with an acoustic & we wanted to allow him the opportunity to have a little more fun with guitar.
We first got him a Silvertone Guitar package because the reviews & it was okay, but if you spend $150 for a guitar package, you get a $150 quality guitar package. We returned it to AMS (the return process was great, THANK YOU AMS)!
We replaced it with the Worn Brown Epiphone Les Paul Studio & the VOX V9106 Pathfinder 10 amp & the combination is great. I love the sound between the two! He now has a great quality guitar that his teacher says will last him through high school!

Epi Les Paul Rocks!
Quality:
Sturdy. Solid. Heavy in a good way. The sustain is remarkable.
Sound:
The Spirit of Duane Allman lives!
Reliability:
So far, so Good.
Playability and Feel:
Like driving a Cadillac
Tone:
This LP plays smooth on the clean channel and can get funky and jet-like with the right distortion. Hard to imagine a sound this guitar can't make.
Finish:
The worn brown is classic...looks like an old bandmate's LP TV Model. I got the Scratch and Dent...it's so nice. I'd buy another!
Action:
Nice action...smooth; no string or fret buzz

Great product-It rocks
Quality:
I would say it is better than most in its price range.
Sound:
The tone is good but I will proably replace the OE with EMGs. It has nice warm tone wich is caricteristic of a Les Paul.
Reliability:
I just recieved This guitar. But feels like a quality instument.
Overall:
I love it. I have been the owner of many guitars over the years, 51 to be exact, and I would say this was a good pick. It is amoung the top 10 of my favorite.
Playability and Feel:
Playability is awsome now that I have made the nessesary adjustments. It is a heavy guitar but thats what you get with a Les Paul
Finish:
The finish on this one is flawless. But that doesnt mean all of them will be.
Action:
It wasnt all that bad. Although I did make a few adjustments on the neck and at the bridge. Much better now.

Great Tone, but some Fret Buzz
Sound:
The tone is awesome!
Reliability:
Don't know how reliable as it is brand new.
Overall:
This guitar plays great and also has great tone. It arrived brand new. My only complaint is that there is some fret buzz with one of the strings. I haven't tried to get it adjusted as of yet.
Playability and Feel:
Great.

Epiphone Les-Paul studio- truly a winner!!!!!!
Quality:
construction of this guitar is great, bridge and pickups were
monted nicely, no sharp fret edges, inlays on neck and headstock
very neat, all controls and tuners very neatly installed, in
the two years I have it, it never let me down, its a winner.
Sound:
From clean to crunchy, sustain is great, tone variations are
endless, but having a good amp helps.
Reliability:
guitar is well made, mahogany body, set neck, grover tuners,
how can you go wrong, unless you act like Pete- Townsend, and
smash it on stage- this guitar will stand up.
Overall:
purchased this guitar from AMS over two years ago, guitar is
well made, solid construction, stays in tune, not one single
blemish, I truly love this guitar.
Playability and Feel:
Its a Les- Paul it has nice weight, smooth neck, very easy to
play, controls are at your fingertips, probably my favorite
guitar.
Tone:
I play through Vox amps, the sound I get is great, clear and
clean, thick and bluesy, this baby can purr like a kitten or
scream like a tiger.
Finish:
As a carpenter I love wood, so I have the faded brown, satin
finish is beautiful, the look of the Mahogany is a thing of
beauty, Bravo- Epiphone.
Action:
action was a little high for me, so I lowered it, other than
that, no complaints.

Another Les Paul For My Collection!!!
Quality:
I bought mine yesterday in the Alpine White finish, which is a Limited Edition model and it seems to be well made, although I had to do a slight intonation and pickup and string height adjustment in order to get it to my liking.
Reliability:
I just got it yesterday but it seems like it should last me a long time. I tend to baby all of my equipment so reliability shouldn't be a problem at all.
Overall:
All in all, it's a very well made product that I can use as a backup guitar on stage or as a practice guitar or both. It's a fun instrument to fool around with.
Playability and Feel:
It definately has that classic Les Paul weight along with that chunky neck, but the action is pretty fast for a Les Paul.
Tone:
The pickups are pretty bright, so using the tone controls alleviates that problem along with a noise gate so you won't get any feedback or hum. This guitar can produce some serious sustain which I love.
Finish:
I love the Alpine White finish, although I do miss the classic block inlays that the older Epi Les Paul Studios used to have.
Action:
The action was a tad high for my tastes, along with the intonation being off kilter a bit. I do my own setups so fixing it wasn't a problem at all.

Best guitar for the money
Quality:
Top notch finish. You can get better, but will have to pay $2K to get it.
Reliability:
The most reliable guitars I own
Overall:
Got the new Arctic blue; not as dark as shown on the web sites, more of a medium blue. Darker would have been better.
Playability and Feel:
Heavy, just like the standard, but same feel.
Tone:
Fret edges are better than past Epi LP's, so it looks like Epi has taken care of this problem.
Finish:
Nice paint job, but again, arctic blue is too light
Action:
Quick tune. One day stretch and fast fret and good to go.
