General What is your overall opinion of this product? i applaud epiphone for these reissues,im not a collector per se but these are aesthetically spot on and for the money a lotta guitar and i hear that they should appreciate in value, time will tell. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? i use it mostly for jazz gigs and rehearsals, but i`ve only had her for a few weeks and so far we are getting along just fine.again i salute epi for the quality of the tuners, pots and pu`s.i was able to set it up myself and it plays and sounds great and it will stay in tune despite heavy handedness. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? the neck feels good on mine, it`s a medium to large c-shape and love the width of the fret board,,chords are easy to play and the controls are a breeze to deal with. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? the tone on mine is a bit dark,,but see i like that and i might add that the bridge pu has a real nice bite to it when u crank it a bit,the pu`s on mine are approx. 6.86 for the neck and 6.80 for the bridge pu just right for mini-hb`s,,,seems like a lotta real vintage pieces from the sixties tend to have a hotter neck pu (again epi`s attention to details is impressive),,,the brightness of the bridge pu was maybe too much back then,,,i am thinking about swapping them but haven`t quite made up my mind yet, love minis they really are a cross between a regular hb and a single coil, snappy, rich and mellow when ya roll the tone knob back. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? i got the olive burst and i really dig it,,no overspray on mine and the binding is perfectly placed ,,i get a lot of compliments when i take her to gigs, the finish is quite subtle and in certain light looks almost natural. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? for the money it can`t be beat,,if this same instrument were made in the states u know it would be two or three times as much i suspect. Playability How was the action out of the box? action outta the box was good but i had to mess with it some to get it right for me,,but see i love doing that kinda stuff,,it`s satisfying to set em up and keep em feeling and playing well,,but it`s a good instrument to start with so it`s a pleasure to do so.

General What is your overall opinion of this product? Great price for a comfy cozy hollow-body that has all the warm, ringing tone you want from an "ES" style guitar. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Although it's mostly excellent build quality, it has a few issues: 1) The pad under the floating bridge was a bit tricky to remove. (Perhaps AMS should have removed it as part of set-up.) 2) The tuning pegs are really cheep and flimsy. They don't stay in tune as well as better quality pegs. But I understand they were going for the "vintage" style. 3) The tone and volume knobs are also cheepy-cheezy... again, it's about the "vintage" vibe. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? This is a super light, comfortable guitar to play. The neck is glossy - which usually is not good, as it tends to get sticky. But not this one. It's not sticky. It's shape and feel are very comfortable and easy to play. The controls are a bit hard to reach, because of the body size and placement. But it's only a problem if you tend to change settings during songs, otherwise they're fine. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? Once again, it appears the drive to go "vintage" made for a somewhat dark sounding guitar. The tone controls are subtractive, passive, so you have to turn them all the way to 10 to get any top end out of them. Likewise with the volume controls. You really have to crank them to get any volume, and they're still weak in comparison to other guitars. So you'll need a powerful amp! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The finish was not buffed out in one area (looked fine, just not smooth), but the rest was lovely. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? For the price, you're getting a really fun guitar that has all the qualities you want from a hollow-body. To do better, you're going to have to pay a lot more. Playability How was the action out of the box? The action was perfect for me (relatively low). And I had no issues with fret buzz. Speaking of frets: they were dressed nice and smooth.

General What is your overall opinion of this product? Overall opinion "not too shabby" Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Quality is typical epi. as said before not too shabby especially with the hard case,,, Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Light feel, slim neck, Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? Well tone was pretty good, my style of playing is usually with USA les Paul's heavy pop punk stuff , pickups are a little on the low side with only about 6 k resistance ,, had to stuff some a/c foam in the f holes to reduce feedback,, after that it was tamed with my gain Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Finish I received was the natural finish, nice looking, when brought to my guitar tech for setup we realized a wax finish on the fretboard that was not taken off, apparently the wax is put on at the factory to protect the fretboard, ( someone forgot to take it off no biggie,) Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? As expected, ams rules once again,,, although on the neck volume control was very scratchy faulty wiring, again no big deal just a small soldering fix, but should have been perfect,,,, bad quality controll on epis part Playability How was the action out of the box? Not bad, raised it a little,
A blast from the past.

General Your general opinion of this product. It looks like an unplayed vintage guitar. Bought as scratch and dent but well worth the price. Tightened t-rod a little, now has action I prefer. It looks like a vintage guitar from the good old days. It sounds very good, mellow but has treble when you want it. I forgot what mini humbuckings can sound like. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? As well as can be for the price I paid. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Dark tone with tone at 0. For leads I open it to 5. I can play with only neck pickup. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? You can see wood grain through the paint which is nice. Very nice sunburst shading.
Very happy with this guitar
