Product Review Definitely a great gear. I have a gretsh and before I was thinking in choosing between gretsh and epiphone. But now that play this epiphone, I can say I love it more than the gretsh and is almost 3 times cheaper. 100% recommended. Only thing I'm unsatisfied was what the shipping and AMS costumer service. Otherwise the guitar was excellent

Product Review I looked forever for the Viv Campbell Epiphone and finally gave up as you just can't find one. I even contacted Viv and he thought he might be able to hunt one down as he only has the 1st and last made. Long story short I ended up buying this as it was going to more of a wall-hanger than player as I've never been a Les Paul player but I thought I'd give it a go, tuned it up and it blew me away as I've never been big on Epiphones but this guitar is amazing for the price. I put Grover tuners on it, put a switch from a Gibson LP in it and I have had so many people tell me that it's the best Les Paul they've played. It even made its way on to the new Def Leppard album coming out in May. I know a lot of pretty big industry bands and anymore you're honestly better off buying an Epiphone or Squire. People would not believe the musicians recording with Squires and other budget models. Totally recommend! Oh yeah, do not waste money changing out pickups on this, mine has had every sort of LP pickup in it you can buy and the og are always swapped back in. There is just something about them.

Product Review I have been playing guitar for quite some time. I have owned several guitars during my career and I got to admit. I'm not much of an epiphone fan. But this is a really fun smooth guitar. I was just passing by one day and picked it up to play it. And it led me to ams as a practice guitar. Outstanding quality for the price. Take a second look. Great for beginners or seasoned players. It's just fun. And AMS had it to my house in 2 days. Great service here.

Product Review I am very satisfied with this guitar. Looks great, plays great, everything works as intended at a very affordable price point! Quality is very good. All electronics work well, everything is tight and the finish is excellent. It feels like it was assembled with care. Fret ends are finished well, tuners are nice and smooth...very nice. Feels great! Not as heavy as a Gibson, and that's ok by me. Neck is smooth all the way up and down, and your hand doesn't get nicked by poorly cut fret ends. Controls all feel smooth and solid. Love the way the pickup select switch feels. Just nice and solid. I'm not an expert on describing guitar sounds, but I feel that the tone on this is great. When I go to the individual pickups, it sounds bright and tight. With both pickups selected, it's very smooth and my prefered tone. I'm using Amplitube, so I can get just about any sound i want out of it. The paint job looks excellent. No buff marks. Very nice For this price range, I just don't see a better option. You're getting a Les Paul for $250 from the only other company that can put Les Paul on the headstock! It's a no brainer!! Buy one of these today! The action on mine felt a little high out of the box. I checked the relief and it was perfect, so I lowered the action to my comfort level. Had to make some minor intonation adjustments, and now I'm good! I'll go through it all again when I put some better strings on it. I like a lighter gauge personally.

Put together well, love the bolt on neck as compared to a set neck. Have only had for a short time. Your general opinion of this product. Have played FENDER Strat for many years and it will take a little getting used to playing on a Les Paul. I am really happy with the purchase. Just starting but just needs time to adjust. No heavier than what I'm used to The tone is how you adjust the controls. Looks excellent. Love the color changes in the light. Action was great, after multiple tunings. Temp changes and sitting overnight after first tuning brought it within range.

The quality was right on another well made Epiphone. I just received it, the way it is made seems like it will last forever if it is well took care of. Your general opinion of this product. I have always wanted a Les Paul and to start with the 100 and move forward (upgrade). This product the Epiphone/Gibson guitars has always meant Quality,American icon I have had other name brands that did not stand up to their name. All in all to sum it up GET THIS YOU CAN'T GO WRONG. The playability is right on ,the neck was straight solid played like butter when I took it out of the box I set it up by tuning it checking intonation that was right on. the controls are in reach feels comfortable it's not heavy, the neck is not chunky it's narrow and ease of sliding up & down the neck as a excellent sound, I plugged in to my RP50 effects pedal and a 1500 watt Behringer and the sound was AWESOME!!! The tone was great the pickups are great I set them lower & they are hot. Finish looks great not blemish,no dings at all it looks great Out of the box all I had to do was tune it and I checked the intonation the string height, bridge height, pickups needed lowered for my playing.

The quality of this guitar is great for the price. Check back in at least 2 years. Your general opinion of this product. I love that Gibson still puts quality in they're afooradble line of guitars. I love Les Pauls, and I have a Gibson, but man, it is so heavy, that is why I bought this Epihone(aside from the price) The sound is close enough to the real thing, but nothing a few pedals can't fix. The tone is good. finish is awesone The action was not that great, but I took it to a guitar repair shop to lower the action, and make it play better. But i do that to all my guitars.

Everyone boasts about how amazing Gibson is (kinda like how Marshall amps are the only good amps theory), but this guitar is great. I changed out the pickups when I first had the guitar, with Duncans, but then changed them back to the stock ones...there was just something about them. I play in a punk band and this guitar has seen everything and still lives through it. bouncing off of floors and walls, nothing stops it...great guitar for playing live, in the studio or just jamming. one of the most reliable guitars ive ever played. like i said i play in a punk band that has been through it all...the good and the worst that you can't even imagine. Your general opinion of this product. one of the best easy to play from beginner to pro... great guitar, great sound, you can just fall into it. when on the rhythm setting (depending on how you adjust the tone knobs) you can have a really dark smooth sound, but then on the treble setting (once again depending on the tone knobs) you can get a bright and snappy tone if thats how you want to describe it. as most of my guitars are, ebony, the lp has a fantastic shine to it. I changed some of the hardware to white, clear, and black as i do on most of my guitars...there wasnt a need to, i just prefer things a certain way. i had to drop it down a bit, but it wasnt bad.

WHY BUY A CHEAP FENDER WHEN YOU CAN HAVE THIS

By: styx fan from arkansas      Submitted: 5/19/2008

Just received the guitar today, and I'm very impressed. Beautiful finish and no flaws notable. This guitar is for my daughter, and it is her first electric. I bought my step son his first guitar which was a Fender strat (Not American made), and it wasn't even close to the quality of the Epiphone. The neck is much faster thann the Strat. The guitar came with a broken "e" string, and American Music Supply immediately recified that situation (As usual). I have purchased a lot of items from AMS and have been cery happy with them. Their customer service ios outstanding. If there is a problem that take care of it right away. The three pat optionn is also a huge help when buying music equipment. You guys at AMS rock. don't know, haven't owned it long enough, however, it seems very well made. Your general opinion of this product. Incredible so far. great neck, especially for smaller hands. alright. great, no blemishes alright, we'll see how good it stays in tune through time.

Your general opinion of this product. This is a great guitar for les paul fans or just for "those about to rock". It's enough of a paul to keep enthusiasts happy, while being quite a nice step up from the Les Paul special 2. The only complaints are that a few frets buzzed, and the pickup selector switch loosens easily. Otherwise, it's still a geat Les Paul for the price.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
I think it is comfortable, and it has that Les Paul feel an look. It would probably be a pretty dependable guitar only if you want it to be. The only flaws in factory quality was that it was a little smudged.

FEATURES:
The best features are the looks, and the electronics. Although the pickups aren't amazing, they get the job done and do it well. I's add flat plated pickups

EASE OF USE:
This is a really easy guitar if you understand which nobs go to which pickups. This guitar is as playable as a guitar gets

VALUE:
Yes, it was probably even a little more than it should have been. I would pay more for better wood and a better pair of pickups.

SOUND:
The sound is as good as any other Les Paul guitar. It is smooth when you want it smooth and hard when you want it hard. Flat plated pickups could give clearer sound quality, though.

CLASSIC LES PAUL FOR A FRACTION OF THE $$$$$

By: AMS Customer from USA      Submitted: 2/5/2008

Product Rating

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
This was the first guitar that i had ever purchased on my own. I bought this thing 4 years ago. Within a day the paint on the rhytum/treble trogle switch had worn away. Two weeks later i was fixing the electronics in the input section. However, it is the tuners that i have given me the most trouble. The guitar never stays in tune for more than 5 or 10 minutes of continuous playing. I was also disapointed in the way this thing was built. All the screws that hold the straps and pickguard continually fall out, even to this date.

FEATURES:
I was suprised at how good this thing sounded. Most people will tell you, "if you buy an epiphone replace the pickups." However, i was quiet surprised at the sound the gave off.

EASE OF USE:
Just plug in and play

VALUE:
This guitar is a pretty good value. Its cheap and plays/sounds good. It's not a gibson, but then again you're only paying $250, not too bad. You get the trade

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
This product is made very well. I'd Give it 10-15 years depending on usage. The worst quality of this guitar Probably is well there isn't. Big 5

FEATURES:
The Best Features of this guitar would be the very smooth neck. You Have an Option of Lead or Rythm. The sound is amazing. 4 turning nobs for Volume control in different areas. With this guitar you control what you do. The least impresive feature of this product would have to be the weight. Although it is not very heavy, It does have a little bit more weight than most guitars. There is a 6ft Cord that comes with it. It comes in a very protected box. Big 5

EASE OF USE:
This product is very good to use. This is a guitar For Begginers to EXperts. It doesnt take very long to learn how to use this product. The manuel is very helpful if your not sure about your guitar. But it is pretty easy to understand the first time you hold it. This Product is extremely Playable, Very Great

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
Came with a small defect when I received it. The pickup switch wasn't tight and I have tried tightening it to no avail. I believe I will need to get a new switch that fits more precise. Other than that it is a great guitar and everything else works and sounds great!

FEATURES:
The pickups are great and you can get 2 very different sounds out of them. For the price, all the features it has are great.

EASE OF USE:
The guitar is very easy to play. Has jumbo frets so even an unexperienced guitarist can play with the best of them. Weight seems a little unbalanced as the neck is heavier and therefore you are constantly adjusting.

VALUE:
The value of this guitar is fabulous. Couldn't find a better sounding, better looking guitar for this price.

SOUND:
The sound is amazing. The crunch of a Les Paul without the price tag. Can't beat it.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
I had this guitar for 55 days and the body cracked where the neck joins the body. It was handled with kid gloves and never mistreated. The guitar SN shows that it was made in the year 2000. I think it is either cheap Chinese wood and/or possibly improper storage at the factory (like dry conditions or temperature fluctuations). I can guarantee that it certainly had nothing to do with the handling it received at my end.

Your general opinion of this product. This might be the lowest emd Les Paul that Epi offers but this is also the guitar I judge all of the guitars I now buy. The only bad thing is the switch but mine has went about 1 yr and 9mth before I started having trouble out of it. Pickups sound good, sound like a LP. I can't say enuff good things about mine. If you buy you wont be sorry.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
Looks good but has a lot of buzz. Buzzes every time you touch the pick guard. Also rythym switch sometimes makes a loud buzz.

FEATURES:
Best feature is that it looks and plays good and the worst is that it doesn't balance well with a strap and frets a little narrow.

EASE OF USE:
I'd rate it about a 3. The frets a a little narrow for me personally. Manual explains setting action and intonations.

VALUE:
Maybe i just got a lemmon so i'll rate it a 3. I'd rather pay a little more for a Epi LP Standard but it's ok for a beginner.

SOUND:
It sounds descent except for the humming when you let go of the strings or touch the pick guard. I 'll give it a 3 1/2 for the sound but needs better pick ups and better switch.
