Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I think I will be an Epihphone/Gibson player now. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Not sure on this, as I just got it. But you can tell this guitar is solid, right out of the box. Finish, and everything is quality-nothing cheap on this ax. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Just got this guitar from AMS. It is my first Gibson ever (played 20 years). You cannot beat this guitar for the price. Looks and sounds awesome! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Solid guitar, neck is sturdy. I did not know the volume knobs control the neck and bridge humbuckers. Awesome for sony dynamics! Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Tonal pallette is diverse. Clean sounds can be whatever you want. Nice, full, open chords ring true. overdriven tones can range from AC/DC to Pantera and everything in between. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Fantastic, quality! I am super-impressed with the look. Action How was the action out of the box? Action is great, right out of the box. I will put .10's on this and have it set up, but not necessary.

The next best thing to actually owning a Gibson. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? If you have weak shoulders, DO NOT buy this guitar to gig with. It is solid and heavy. The neck is great and the knobs are out of my right hands way...which is improatnt to me. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The pickups have that great midrangy, Les Paul sound. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The finish looks good but the black is hard to keep clean. Action How was the action out of the box? The action was great. The problem I ran into was that the intonation was off.

A couple of frets alittle off, but that's probably the way they are unless you want to pay another couple of grand. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Plays quicker and easier than my Fender Strat. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? It gets a good range of sound using the Spider III Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Excellent. Very attractive guitar Action How was the action out of the box? Terrible. Strings set way high and pickups way out of balance. I adjusted everything including the neck and now it plays like a dream.

Ive had it for almost 3 years now and its still like new. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Its well built my friend has a gibson les paul standard. And you cant see a difference in the two. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? You can feel the weight of it after its on our shoulder for a while . But you can tell your holding a quality guitar in your hands as well. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Lots of tone here. I like the sound i get out this one. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Finish was great. Iwent with ebony and its flawless. Action How was the action out of the box? Had to adjust the intonation and set the action but thats no big deal . If you dont know how any local music shop will do it for you really cheap im sure.

AMS will refund your money or exchange the product if you dont like it, if you return it in time of course. I know from personal experience, I bought an epi sg prophecy with dirty fingers pick ups dent and scratch. They sent a prophecy with emgs! When I called and told them they told me they had sold out of the dent and scratch model.Then they blew my mind by not refunding my money and saying sorry, but sent an brand new one at the d&s price. AMS is a great company in my opinion I wont shop anywhere else for musical equipment Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? For the most part respectively they (Epi & Gibson) are not too far apart from one another. This Guitar as far as quality, well you can't get too much better without paying a couple thousand dollars. This IS a thousand dollar guitar for half the price! Reliability How has it stood up over time? To be seen.. but the way that it's crafted I'm sure I'll have it forever! Overall Your general opinion of this product. I have three other guitars and this one is the great fourth guitar. Won't need to buy one for a few years. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It is heavy but that to me that exemplifies great quality for the style of guitar. It's real easy to play.. My girlfriend could even tell the difference and she just knows a couple of riffs. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Heavy smooth on clean channel. Mean as heck with my Boss mt-2 pedal. Simple as that. I've heard that the les pauls don't come set up well but mine came set up to my taste.
