I ordered this mainly as a temporary backup til I fixed my ovation concert series custom guitar. I found that this Epiphone and the amp were ready out of the box and it plays like a hot knife thru butter. I think this amp for as small as it is sounds better than the acoustisonic 90 amp I have. I highly recommend the package that comes in this

What can I say, except if you are looking for an acoustic electric, you can go wrong with this Epiphone package. The guitar is beautiful and sounds superb. I recently purchased epiphone PR4E player cutaway acoustic package, and i want to express how happy with my new purchase.
First off the amp/guitar collab sounds so amazing and the customer care was great everytime i tried to communicate with them..
My only concern was with shipping... FEDEX gave me a run around, i was meant to get my package within two days but it took 9 days... but i know that was on fedex...

Guitar is very well constructed, well balanced and smooth, the only exception is bottom of neck a couple of frets are a little rough, just a little. The rest makes it worth it. The sound is impressive both as acoustic or electric. Amp is perfect size for house playing and looks very nice.

My daughter wanted a guitar for christmas, of course I had no idea what I was looking for. I had heard of big name guitars but being a single mother I couldn't afford them. I'm going to be using this to start learning to play, so my experience with guitars is minimal. Out of the box it took a lot of tuning to get it to sound right, a couple full turns on the knobs for each string. That said, once tuned it does sound pretty good. Is it the best sound? No. But as I'm just starting, I wasn't looking for the best (that will come later). The included tuner was obviously very helpful. Came with a couple picks so have one as backup. The strap is pretty basic, pretty much like a strap from a duffle bag. Not going to check out the "gig bag" as it's just a bag and I have no real need for it. Can't say much about the amp as I won't be using that until later on down the line once I can play.
All in all, if you are looking for a decent guitar for just starting out then go with this and get everything you need at a low price and save up for a better guitar for when you've learnt to play.

The beauty of this Acoustic package was and understatement in the picture. When my husband opened up his Acoustic guitar on Christmas day it was not what i expected at all. My husband is not us to getting nice things because of coming from a poor family. My husband was lost for words and kept on saying "Oh My God" and "Thank You God" I couldn't have gave him a more touching gift. This is something he has wanted and has not been able to get. I was so skeptical up until I opened and tuned this guitar up and immediately from the first chord was amazed at the deep ringing sounds of this guitar ! Then I plugged it in dialed the mini amp in and for just 15 watts of power it sounded perfect !! 3 weeks earlier I bought an electric keyboard for my 92 year old mother and she plays and sings nearly every day now ... Your customer support really came through for us when mom wanted to send the first keyboard back and order the second one that she just absolutely Love's , Kudo's to your company and it's employee's .. I have been playing guitar for 47 years and had pretty much given up on playing acoustic guitar due to arthritis and neuropathy in my hands and wrists. I took a chance on the PR4E due to reviewers who touted it as a great beginners instrument with good playability. Boy am I glad I did. played it for hours the first day. I have not done anything with the Amp yet but it was a bonus at the price of this package. The fit and finish are excellent and set up was fine from the box with the exception of a broken string. AMS quickly sent out a replacement string goody box. I strung it with electric strings I had on hand. I will be looking for a hardshell case for this guitar as I plan on taking it with me everywhere.

All I was looking for was an acoustic amp, after trying a few I realized that maybe my guitar was not giving me the sound I needed...I wanted Jim Croce sound, Eagles,Supertramp, Bad Co.etc. I played thru an Acoustatonic fender 150 and fell in love....but not my price range...so I gambled and got this setup...Wow...Not only did it fill all my needs, it gave me a new outlook and new ideas as the sound of both guitar and amp filled my ears with warm clear and bassy sound...I have played 40 years or so and don't remember a time in wich I played for 6 hours strait...I'm not in a band nor have ever wanted to, but I do play often with friends...My friend liked it so much that he ordered one...and me I got another one for good measure...good deals don't happen often...If you want clarity, nice sound and super affordability, this outfit is the one,thank you AMS.

I have come to expect quality & value from Epiphone. (This is my 5th Epi.) And they came through, yet again. Other than a minor truss rod adjustment, the guitar was set to go right out of the box. And the fit/finish of this guitar is excellent.
In my opinion, this is NOT a "beginner's" guitar. It's just priced like one. It has perfect action, and plays easily. Unplugged the tone is very pleasing. Plugged in, the on-board electrons are very effective. The amp also has a wide tonal range, as well. The chorus works exceptionally well. And the amount of volume, available from this tiny box, is surprising.
This package is another example of why I love Epiphone.

When I received the guitar, my 3rd string was totally loose and could not make good tone out of it. After I changed it, it becomes better now. I bet my guitar didn't really pass the quality test. Besides, the DVD is way too old and the quality is not as well as expected.

After some adjustment, I think my PR4E is working better now.
After changing my 3rd string, things are going better. It's not heavy for a girl and ok to hold.
It's bright and smooth as long as I practice more. I guess I could not tell very much, but compare to more expensive ones, mine is just ok.

The box held all the parts great. Everything was fine and easy to set up.

This is a really nice guitar for the price. Well worth it. It seems to be made well. I gave it a little pounding out of the box and it handled very good.
I can't really say much about the reliability yet only having it a little over three days but so far so good.

Nice little amp plenty loud for practicing around the house. Changed the strings on the guitar and it made a world of difference on the tone. The strings it came with made the guitar sound to tinney. I can get a pretty nice tone out of it using the 3 band built in EQ. For the price paid it was a well worth it purchase.
The playability and feel is nice. I would prefer the jack be a little more right but I can deal with where it is.
The stings it came shipped with were a little to bright. Through some D'Addario EJ16's on it and got a much mellower sound.
The natural color on top is a little to yellow (almost plastic looking) but I have it banged up in no time;,)
Action is good out of the box.

Everything seems to be well built. It has a smooth finish. Feels sturdy despite its light and thin body.
I've only had this for a week, so I really can't tell far it can't hold up. However, from my experience with previous guitars, I can already tell that this has the qulaity of a reliable guitar.

I got a great deal on this package for only $149.95 under the "scratch & dent" zone. I was a little bit hesitant to order it 'cause I usually buy brand new items. But the price was so tempting so I ordered it anyway. I got the package after a few days (as expected) and thought that I made a mistake in ordering it since the package was all beat up and old as the UPS guy handed it to me. I kept my fingers crossed while opening it, and to my surprise, everything was still wrapped and packed like the way it was suppose to be - not even a single scratch or dent! The only thing missing that I noticed is a single string from the extra strings provided - but who cares, and who uses stock strings anyway, right?
This has a great feel. Very comfortable and light. Neck plays fast, almost feels like an electric guitar neck.
I'm still using the strings that came with it, and so far I am satisified. It has a bright mellow tone. I'm sure it would sound better once I replace the string with something better. For a beginner, I'd say it will suffice.
The finish is exceptional. Nicely buit and done. Smooth edges and the fretboard is smooth and percectly built as well.
The action was a little bit high for my taste. But for an acoustic guitar, I guess this is tolerable. Once I replace the strings, I'd probably make some minor adjustments to the action.

I was Floored on the price versus quality of this instrument, Unbelieveable. This was worth 4 times what they were asking, it was even set-up and for the most part in tune, the binding on the guitar was very exquisite, the guitar came stung with 80/20 Bronze and just sounds like it wants to be played. I purchased this one to replace the one that was stolen and I like this better then the one by another manufacturer,...starts with the letter, "M" and I am serious, the neck is fast plays like an electric speed wise, comfortable, and not one that will fatigue your hands, trust me I haven't put it down since I got it. The guitar alone is the quality, then add a decent sounding amp with the capability to run a mic with it, awesome, now the rest of the stuff I have to be honest was a nice thought, but not to my taste, but it was all there, bag, dvd, pics,tuner, truss rod wrench. Worth more, take advantage while you can, sounds like a good Gibson, for those who don't have a recording contract
with this exceptional quality, I am sure it will be handed down for years to come.

like it should have been more expensive!
Like I said b-4 it was set-up and just a little sharp, but otherwise in tune right out of the box, that caught my attention right away.

QUALITY:
This product wont last long, its great. It doesnt have a loose part on it, everything is safe and secure.
FEATURES:
This guitar is a great compatable guitar to take to gigs and to take to your anut's and uncle's house if you want to play for them, its so easy to transport around.
EASE OF USE:
This guitar is very easy to use, its great for begingers and for experienced people and kids. Any kid that is starting out should get this guitar, you will look cool and sound great.
VALUE:
Yes the 199.95 dollars that i paid was worth it. In fact i am thinking about getting it for my brother and my cousin.
SOUND:
The sound is okay i mean you would have to invest in a bigger ampt to get great rocking sound for the electric sound but for the acoustic sound its great.

QUALITY:
The guitar feels solid. The picture leads you to believe the sides are white but they are not.
FEATURES:
I like the thinner body style aprox 3 1/2 inches thick.
EASE OF USE:
Very easy to play. You don't have to push down on the strings hard at all. The included DVD helped too.
VALUE:
This is a great value. I have recomended it to a few friends that were looking at guitars for the same price as the whole package.
SOUND:
The sound is very nice (no fret buzzing) and it stays in tune. The amp sounds real nice too. Between the controls on the guitar and the controls on the amp you can get allot of different sounds.

QUALITY:
Surprised that this cheap guitar would be this well made. It'll last a good long while ,no doubt.The worst feature is just that it IS what it is;a beginner/starter guitar. I don't think you can find a better package deal.
FEATURES:
Thin-style body is a feature I like. The EQ is really OK. Using the amp controls,it get's even better.
EASE OF USE:
Very playable...couldn't locate any string buzz. Wow...at this price?!
VALUE:
Well worth the spending cabbage. I would probably pay more,but I'm hesitant to give AMS any ideas. I want to buy a couple more as gifts,at this price.
SOUND:
The decent sound surprised me. Played through proper FX,it got the job done for home recording. Played into an SM57,with the output of the guitar into a channel unto itself made for some really full sound on two channels.
