Gruntys thoughts about the Epiphone PR5E Cutaway Acoustic Electric Guitar
Quality:
looks great and like most Epiphones I have bought from AMS excellent quality you can't beat it
Sound:
Out of the box i love it, sounds is great
Reliability:
I can't answer this just got it yesterday but I have 2 other Epiphones and I have had them 3 years and they do get a work out and still look like new, and the only thing I have changed is strings. I have been playing this one since i got it had to tune it, i have 10 hours on it easy far haven't had to tune it yet.
Overall:
It's fantastic just what I have been looking for HE HEEEEEEEE. If your a beginner you will love it you just can't beat it just so easy to play, it will make learning a lot more fun and enjoyable
Playability and Feel:
feels great, nice and light and plays fast. controls are no problem right within reach you can't beat it.If you have the money to spend this is the way to go to have fun.
Tone:
i am not a expert far from it but the tone sounds good to me i have nothing to say bad about it.
Finish:
Like all my other Epiphones fantastic
Action:
Action is just like my electric guitars the strings are so low to the frets a 5 year old can play it. I have a Carvin electric guitar with strings so close to the frets all you have to do is touch them. This Epiphones is darn near as close he heeee.

Seems to be very well built. No flaws i can see or hear.
Sound:
Not wonderful unplugged. World of difference amped. very surprising, clear tone
Reliability:
had for few months only. But don't dought it will last me till i'm finished playing.
Overall:
Didn't expect a lot from this guitar for the price, but with a set of Martin strings and amped it is obviously priced to low. It Sounds wonerful through a fender amp. thinking of getting an acoustic amp.
Playability and Feel:
feels like an old friend. comfy, playable. Keeps tune very well.
Tone:
Sound is even across the strings. the controls even out any differences no problem
Finish:
I got the Natural. Beautiful and flawless.
Action:
Great action. no adjustment needed on mine.

Great Guitar
Quality:
This is a very well made guitar.
Sound:
Tone is awesome, I htought there might be an issue with it being a slim body guitar, but it sounds great.
Reliability:
I just bought it, so I can't say, but it is very well made. Sturdy, not a piece of junk by any means.
Overall:
This is an excellent guitar. My new favorite.
Playability and Feel:
It plays like an electric guitar, the action is fast.

Quality:
Great quality, I have not been disappointed by epiphone before and the story hasn't changed. It has never given me troubles.
Sound:
Like I said, it is awesome. While you may only be able to mess with a couple levels, the 'vibrance' level makes up for it. And as far as the quality of sound being put out, its awesome. I really can't explain how great it sounds, but just imagine every strum, hearing each strings note crisp and clear each time you strum. Its like a mini orchestra coming out of your guitar all playing in harmony, I love it.
Reliability:
Owned it for a year and a half. Played it every day, and almost every week for worship. No problems at all, just a solid guitar.
Overall:
So I have been playing for a while now, and this guitar is the one that I always go back to. Plug it in and get ready to blow peoples minds with the amazing sound. I am serious, everyone I play with drop what they are doing the first time they hear this plugged in to tell me how great they think it sounds.
Playability and Feel:
A very light guitar. The neck is pretty smooth, and easy to move around on. Its not too chunky, and bar chords are easy to do for a long time without tiring out your hand. It is pretty skinny, which is nice when you just want to sit down and play, but sucky when you are looking for a case. Make sure to find one it won't want to move around in
Tone:
Tone is great. I installed the Elixer Phospher/bronze to give it that warm tone, and WOW. It seriously sounds better than the $1000 Taylors it was playing with.
Finish:
Finish looks great. Lots of people compliment on how it looks. I did however buy and install a pick guard. The best $10 investment I made on this guitar.
Action:
The action is superb. I sometimes do get a fret buzz on the 6e when I play the third fret, but that just tells me I need to change strings. Once I do, its gone.

Couldn't be happier!
Quality:
Seems to be made well. Haven't detected any issues. Because it was sold as the scratch and dent, I really inspected it for any issues and I haven't found any at all. Then again, I haven't had a chance to push it hard. Time will tell.
Sound:
For an acoustic/electric, the sound when not amplified is very decent. Plugged in, this little dynamo is exceptional. It's very warm and bold. Not too bright. I haven't had it long enough to experiment with different effects, but I can tell it's going to be wonderful.
Reliability:
I've only had it maybe a week. Seems sturdy enough. Again, for a scratch and dent there isn't anything structurally that's an issue. A few very slight marks - hardly noticeable. I think the electronics had to be repaired but they're working fine so far.
Overall:
Was looking for a thinline acoustic and spotted this one as a "scratch and dent". The price was knocked down to make it very enticing. Because of the Epiphone name and super deal AMS was offering I took a chance. Wow! This was a super deal. The only thing I can tell the might have been wrong with it is the electronics were repaired. There's very minor marks that aren't really noticeable. As for the instrument - it's beautiful. For the price, the sound is very nice - warm tones when not plugged in, when amplified it's very nice. Action is perfect. I am all over this neck with no problems. I have a Wasshburn a/e and an Ibanez exotic wood. After a week of playing around on the PR5E, I'm selling the Ibanez.
Playability and Feel:
So light and fast. Perfect thinline body. The neck is so easy. I've had a few different acoustics through the years and I'm loving the feel of this.
Tone:
Very warm and vibrant. Can tweak the equalization to brighten it up. Sound is projected very well when not plugged in. I should also add that when amplified, I have not had any feedback yet.
Finish:
Finish looks great. It really does look like what you would imagine an old bluesman would be tooling around with on the porch. It's not too shiny and not dull.
Action:
Action out of the box is almost perfect. No problems playing up and down the neck. Easy to move around. No buzzing. I will probably mess around with the action to see what happens.
