I've been using Ernie ball strings since the seventies and normally I use super slinky's but this time I went to extra's . As I have gotten more seasoned (for you young folks Older) I've found that these 8's are a bit easier for me to play. Same quality I've come to expect from Ernienall strings just lighter. Don't worry they are tough also, as long as you don't try towing with them . If you've never tried these strings give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.

I began playing in the mid 80s and put a pair of Slinkys on my first guitar and have never not had Slinkys on at least half of my guitars and they never have let me down! Ernie Ball has always kept the highest level of quality with their products and the Slinky line of strings are proof! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I'm no shredder but I do like a good set of strings! Ernie Ball's Skinny Top, Heavy Bottom string are a perfect match for my style of Rock and Heavy Metal rhythm guitar playing. They enough low end and punch to compliment my lead player's scream solos with his set of Slinky 9's. They are lively, stay in tune and don't go dead after a few gigs and rehearsals. If you love some low end with some crisp smooth tone on the high side then you appreciate these strings!

I have always LOVED Ernie Ball strings! Super high quality! I always love slapping a new set of regular slinky's on my guitar. The sound is so beautiful! Tight and crisp. Very durable. I would highly recommend these strings. I use them on all of my guitars. Just different gauges. If you are looking for an incredible set of strings that won't break the bank then look no further.

Whenever I buy strings, I go to ernie ball. They are very durable and never had i found one with a defect. They go great on les pauls and other guitars where the end ball might show. I prefer the thinner ones, but even 10s and 11s are good for bending and such. If you want good, durable strings with no extra perks going on, these are the standard. Don’t be fooled by the low price tag, these are premium strings.

I have used many different flavors from EB and I have not been displeased with any of them. Some bend better but in my experience all of them last nicely, sound great and that there has to be an EB for everyone. I use them on my 12 string acoustic and electric, and all my 6 strings whether it is acoustic or electric.

I used to play standard 10-46 on all my guitars. After trying a few different brands out on standard and light gauge I now prefer these 9-42 on all my 25.5" scale guitars. I have had some sets though leave a decent amount of black residue on my fingers after first play, but I just use a string cleaner to wipe that off. Strings seem to last as long as I need them to

Slinky's are long lasting. Tone is always consistent. Been playing since 1959. Been using slinky's since early 1970's. On acoustics, I like nanoweb custom lights. Yet, slinky's sound great on acoustics when you are playing old school tunes, and blues.

For around 38 years I have used Earnie Ball strings during all of my guitar playing career. Constant quality and tone is what you can expect from this brand of strings and they have held their cost down through the years. You do not have to take my word for it just ask the literal hundreds of recording artists that endorse Earnie Ball strings. From James Hetfield of Metallica & Mike Ness of Social Distortion to Jimmie Page & Joe Bonamassa, they are the best strings on the market. I have been playing guitar since 1987 & have tried every single string available over the last 33 almost 34yrs & have always preferred Earnie Ball Regular Slinky 10-46. Any time I buy a new Gibson guitar the 1st thing I do is take off whatever strings the vendor had on it & put my Earnie Ball Regular Slinkies on. Their unparalleled in their tone, playability & durability. While every guitarist breaks a string every now & again for me it is very rare & I play almost every single day.

One time my semi truck got stuck in some snow on a back haul through Wyoming. The tow truck driver forgot his tow strap, and I thought there was no way I’d make it home for Christmas. Thankfully I had a pack of these bad boys laying around in the sleeper cab so I thought, hey, let’s give ‘em a go. So I tied all 6 of them together and coupled my rig to the tow truck and next thing I new I was east bound and down, loaded up and truckin’. I knew I had a long way to go and a short time to get there, but thanks to my Ernie ball super slinky’s I was confident that I was gonna do what they say can’t be done. I will continue to use these strings knowing that they’ll never let me down when I need them most.

Ernie Ball strings have been my go to strings for years. After I put this set on my Les Paul, I found the balance between the low and high strings wasn't what I was looking for. I was tuned to standard E, A, D, G, B, E tuning. I'm sure these strings would be great for players who tune down.

i have been playing on ernie ball super slinky strings since the 1960s. price have not risen much, strings are easy to play,hold their picth, and last for a long time even when giging 3-4 nights a week.i use them for all styles,r&b,rock,blues, jazz and country western. easy to fret, easy to bend,clear percise tone.i dont feel as though i am fighting the strings when playing, this prevents hand fatigue, makes playing arpeggios, scales, octaves diads. much easier. have very smooth surface which prevents calouses and allows me to slide around the fretboard easily and confidently..i have tried other brands but have always come back to ernie ball super slinkys. i guess if they ever stop making them my guitar playing days will be over...al williams

I’m 63 years old, have played guitar for over 55 years, so far. I started using these strings when I was just starting high school. Over the years, I’ve tried other strings, but I always come back to these. With proper care, keeping them clean,(I like to use Finger Ease, but in a pinch, WD-40 works fine), they last a long time. In fact, I make it a point to change them once every year or two, whether they need it or not! :)

I've been using Ernie Ball's Strings for over 20 years and why? The string holds up very well to weather conditions and lasts a long time on my guitar, just making sure to wipe it down after every playing. The strings are very sturdy and rarely breaks. The sound quality is fast and sharp without any annoying string noises. I have tried many other brands and kept coming back to the Ernie Balls.

Normally I wouldn't rate to review a pack of strings but I needed to give AMS the props they deserve. I only use Ernie Ball regular Slinkys and they are on all of my guitars. With all the craziness going on with covid-19 it's been a very difficult to get strings and get them in a timely fashion. After looking at and considering many different electric guitars I decided to to talk to a rep at AMS, I was on a limited budget and was unsure what guitar in my price range would suit me ,the rep suggested Ibanez GSX 700A and I couldn't be happier with my purchase ,it is an outstanding guitar,plays like a dream,smooth and responsive finer guitar than ones that cost considerably more

Really, best string for the money. I'm convinced that new strings sound better than old string no matter the price. I change strings bi-weekly on my main guitars and have used much more expensive strings that may have been a bit brighter for a day or two however, theres a reason these EB strings have been around forever and so many instrument manufacturers use them for their own guitars.

Great strings! These things hold their own! Strung them up on my Malmsteen Strat and they last for days on end. Typically with the severe bends I do it seems I always brake a string within a couple days. Not with these guys ,they stay bright and usually never get dull untill they need changing. Which I do every 2 weeks. Givin I play/practice 4 hours on week days and 6 hours relentlessly on weekends. Thanks Ernie Ball! Keep up the good work!

So when I purchased my Schecter reaper 6, I also threw in a set of Ernie Ball strings. Although the guitar came fully set up with only boss strings I can never have enough. If you play hard rock or heavy metal and experiment with different tunings these are your strings.

I’ve used different brands over the years, but these days this is what I prefer for my strings. They handle a Floyd Rose well, stay in tune when strung right, and give me the pinch harmonics I do without fail so I can scream when it matters, but give me solid rhythm tones too. They last at least three months easy with heavy daily work, and don’t appear to corrode much if the guitar is left out of a case to sit on a stand for a week or so. I prefer .10’s and now and then will put their Cobalts on my guitar too just because I can. I bought 9 packs so I’d say it’s clear I like these strings. Received last week and sounded great on my ESP and my Les Paul, and do great with country, blues, rock, metal and high gain shredding leads. Thanks!

Good strings, recently switched back from more premium strings, and found that I sort of missed the feeling of these more affordable strings. Great to have options as the myriad types afford subtle differences in playing comort/sound. I prefer balanced tensions for Floyd equipped guitars (wish they offered these in balanced tension). Great strings as usual from Ernie Ball with great plugged or unplugged resonance and sound projection.

First off, I tune in a half-step down, then I put it in drop-D...or, drop-D flat, if you will. These strings, I found, work best the way my guitar is set-up and intinated on my Fender Deluxe Telecaster. I’ve never had a new string break or unravel on me. This is the best bang-for-my-buck. I have been using Ernie Ball 2221 Regular Slinky's on my Semi-Hollow guitars for about 10 years now. I don't concern myself with longevity, I go with tone and these strings provide that. I play pretty hard with 1.5 mm picks and these strings stand up to my style of playing.

I usually get 9-42's. Why? Because I like to shred and bend. These strings are perfect for the 80's metal inspired soloist. I use them on Schecter Guitars with a Floyd Rose. Only thing I dislike is that they sound awfully tinny and Ringy with hot EMG pickups. So adjust the tone a bit on your amp if needed.

Play Custom Fender Strat Deluxe on Sundays and a Gibson 347 in the secular band (Classic Rock, Country, Blues etc). Can't say enough good about these strings my fear would be that they would stop making them.

Have used these babies since they first came out. A long time basically. With all the advances in new string alloys I spent the last year or so trying out m-steel, cobalt and even nyxl. Which are all good products. But I just wasn't having as much fun playing. I put sthb's back on all my guitars. They work for me.

I've been using the "green" Slinky's for many, many decades, for both live and recording situations. There are many good sounding strings available, but for me, these are my "go to" strings. They stay in tune and sound great, even towards the end of their life! I use them primarily on my Strat, Les Paul and my modified Ibanez AS-73.

I use Ernie Ball and DAddario strings. I find that the Ernie Ball strings last longer and I don't break the high E string as much. I do bend my strings a lot. So I have switch to Ernie Ball 9's as my main guitar strings.
Quality product. Lasts a good long time if you take care of them, and the sound stays bright and the sustain will last a good long time.
They feel awesome. I use string cleaner and string ease on them.
The tone is great. Always the same tone from set of strings to set of strings.
I would recommend them to any musician that plays live. They will not let you down and will last longer than most.

The first set I tried, I was hooked. I've been trying different string gauges and manufacturers since my first string change. So many choices, options, manufacturers, it all seemed so daunting. But Once I found these I knew I'd found what I was looking for. They don't call 'em "Slinky" for nothing. Nice feel. Barre chords seem to sound better, and are easier to fret. Individual notes are clear and perfect. These strings hold a tuning well too. But best of all is that I don't have to sacrifice tone for feel.
Highest quality strings. I use them for Classic Rock, Southern Rock, and Blues. Great sounds on all ends of the spectrum!
Awesome! They feel almost "Silky". Easy on the fingers on bends and other techniques usually hard on the calluses!

They Are Dependable, just a little more prone to brakage, so you kind of have to be carefull when tunning.

I have these on Les Paul, I do Like Natural distortion of the sting, I antully prefur it over gibson's.
However they do have a little buzz to the (not the fret's) they are not as thick as gibson's which I like, But, because they're not as thick they're a little more prone to brakage.

I bought an Ibanez Gio guitar to see if I could learn to play at age 42. I bought a set of these strings (pink pack) at a music store and re-strung the guitar. Very well made. I like the idea of manufacturing in a low humidity enviroment.
I change my strings every 2 months or so, I play for my church so there is really no need to keep changing out strings.

The Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings are very high quality. I've tried several brands and these hold up the best. I'm very rough on my strings and these just don't break in between string changes.
The most reliable brand on the market. No other strings hold up as well for me.

As far as strings go, nothing even compares. I've tried more inexpensive/expensive strings, and at this point in my career, I don't even bother any longer. I go Ernie Ball everytime.
I wouldn't say they are any more playable or feel different than other strings on the market, but the fact that they don't break while you're playing makes them much more playable than others.
I use the supers and I think the sound is great. Up and down the neck, they sound the way they should sound.

The quality on these strings are great, they are strong, they sound great. Although they started to rust because the humidity in the weather, but i just wipe my strings down with a cloth and they sound very good.
