excellent guitar from korea
Quality:
Hasn't gone out of tune once. Rock solid in that department. I did magic block the floating floyd but not for tuning stability. worked great both ways
Sound:
I did the 18 volt mod on the blackout and it really makes this guitar sing.
Reliability:
only had for 3 weeks.
Overall:
For being a korean made guitar this is awesome
Playability and Feel:
Neck is fantastic. Very fast and the ebony is polished smooth, reminds me of older 80's jackson USA models. plenty of room in control cavity for 18volt pickup modding.
Tone:
People say the Blackout is muddy. Pfft.. I have been an avid EMG user for almost 15 years. This blackout in 18 volt mode sounds soooooo good through a tube amp, incredible dynamics and the sweetest overtones even at low volumes. The best active pickup on the market today.
Finish:
Paint is Fine. Smacked the corner of the v and it chipped down to the wood 2nd day I owned it. Not a bad thing really as this is common on sharp body guitars just hate it when I do it to a new one
Action:
Terrible. needed a truss adjustment. The intonation was perfect out of the box.

My Favorite Guitar Ever
Quality:
Extremely high quality for the price. I cant imagine there is much difference between this and the ESP version, besides the gain booster and the extra $1000. Phenomenal craftsmanship with the black pearl inlays and binding. Looks pretty sweet too, with the satin black and black nickel hardware.
Reliability:
I have only had it for about 2 weeks, but have played the heck out of it during that time and it has stood up well. The only complaint (and this isn't specific to this model) is that the "black nickel" finish starts to come off the hardware relatively easily, especially where your picking hand rests on the bridge. I have had this issue with other ESP/LTD models with the black nickel hardware.
Overall:
On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate it an 11. I love this guitar! I have always loved Vs and I own 4 including this one. I have owned MANY guitars over the years, including a USA Jackson King V (w/EMGs & Kahler trem), and this is my favorite guitar purchase ever.
Playability and Feel:
Plays like a dream. The alder body makes the guitar fairly light. The satin wood finish on the back of the neck makes it very fast and comfortable. The Floyd is of course, awesome and the guitar is very easy to play. I am a little confused by the fact that they removed the waist cut from the back of the guitar, but for Vs this isn't a big deal anyway.
Tone:
Sounds great!!! The passive EMG-HZ F-H2 pick up sounds awesome (It would be nice to have the PA2 20dB gain booster though). I also have a LTD V-500 with EMG-81s and the active 81s do sound a little better, but this pickup still screams! Just increase your gain or input level a little and your good to shred!
Finish:
Paint job is AWESOME! Satin black (almost a dark grey) is cool enough, but with the gloss metallic black pinstripes, it looks killer! Also, the natural satin wood finish on the back of the neck is one of my favorite features. The black nickel hardware compliments this finish well.
Action:
Action/playability out of the box was great! I only had to adjust the trem springs to accommodate my tuning (drop C#). I am planning on having it professionally set up though...

Amazing Guitar!
Quality:
I'd like to mention that this is a ESP, and ESP has always made high grade guitars even on their lowest models.
Reliability:
Amazing, this guitar will always hold up very well, and is made very very strong.
Overall:
Overall ESP has made an amazing guitar and Alexi knew what he was doing when this guitar was made.
Playability and Feel:
The playability is amazing, it's a very simple set up, and the neck is smooth as better, it plays very fast, and has one of the best feels I've ever felt. The only thing but it common in all V's, is the weight distribution sucks. As soon as you let go of the neck and all hands are off the guitar, the head of the guitar will nose dive.
Tone:
The tone is a nice bright high gain, but it's made for one of the best darkest medal bands in the world. It has an amazing sound, and I think can be great for alot of rock genres.
Finish:
Looks just like the picture and is a very solid gloss finish, and when your hands get sweaty, your hands doesn't slip off to easily. To be honest it's really nice. But as come with gloss, easy leave of finger prints, and get's dirty easily so keep up with it!
Action:
Amazing. Just read the rest of the comments I left, there's really nothing bad about this guitar.
