Setup is great and it sounds good right out of the box. The only issue is with the factory strings. They are not for a fretless bass unless you want your fretboard ruined.

First thing I noticed is you can feel where the frets are supposed to be so it doesn't feel or play like a true fretless. But on the plus side it has a nice balanced feel and would be great for a first time buy.

In the past, I've been hesitant to buy instruments unless I play them first. Since I bought this one, I would most likely buy another one online again. Great customer service and quick delivery. Thanks guys!!

I am a new basis and I have been looking for a fretless. This bass is the perfect fit. I love the tone from the two humbuckers. If you are looking for a fun, affordable fretless. I guarantee, you cannot go wrong with this instrument!

This is my first fretless bass. The action is perfect, the neck is straight. The sound quality is the best ever. I would definitely be interested in the 5 string fretless.

Best Entry Fretless Bass Ever

By far the best bang for the buck for any bass I have owned. If you want to get into fretless basses, this is the way to go!
The ESP pickups are crisp and clear with a great midtown range to help you cut through the mix. The neck is one of the smoothest and easiest to play, even challenging the feel of Ibanez Wizard necks.
Comfortable, easy to play and light weight feel make this bass a great, easy to learn journey into the fretless world.

Second Fretless Bass

Beautiful finish and setup right out of the box. Active EQ is easy to dial in once you’re familiar. My only complaint is that the factory setup came with nickel plated rounds, tend to eat up fretless necks. Definitely order Flatwound strings when considering a fretless bass, otherwise, this is a flawless bass for the price.

Strangest thing every time these yo
ung ladies see the guitar they want to know if it's made out of wood I'm like of course it is the finish is so smooth the feeling of the guitar is so professional I wanted to fix my Frankenstein fretless but the electrical part was messed up so I went ahead and purchase this new ESP LTD I figured out how to dial in some sounds with it sound like an old stand-up Bass

Why did I wait?

I finally worked up the nerve to go fretless and what was I waiting for. This bass is a beauty and the 5 piece neck is the most comfortable I've played and I own many basses including Spector,Guild,G&L and Carvin. The tone is rich and full with active tone controls to dial in the perfect sound from the ESP pickups that do a great job.It really nails the Jaco sound many seek from a fretless. For the price it is a total bargain.I can't put this baby down.It arrived in 2 days safe and sound and impressively packed to protect the amazing Spalted Maple Finish. If you have had the urge to play fretless do yourself a favor and check this one out.I doubt you'll regret it nor find a finer instrument for the money.

Product Review
I have long for a fretless bass over the years and must I say WOW for a price under $600. I am impressed with such a simple and low priced bass guitar with a mid range tone and clean sounding pickups. So far it has been actively busy in my studio. ESP LTD has done a fabulous job and certainly highly recommend this to anyone looking to get a fretless bass. I was looking at a Fender non-USA fretless bass but I'm glad I didn't as I am happy with my B204.

Really enjoying this bass. It’s light weight makes me carry it around more, and therefore play and practice more. The stock strings are D’addario, which sound great. Really nice touch on a sub $500 instrument. I’d normally drop $45 on Chromes the instant a new bass comes, but not time. Quality is impressive, spalted maple is really nice looking. Overall made me consider ESP guitars/bass as another option (I’m all Fender, aside from this instrument).

Product Review
This bass is really sweet. My fretted Bass is a Fender Jazz. I've had it 15 yrs. or so and I have only played it twice since I got this ESP. The ESP has a faster neck and the tone is extreme. Very fun to play. MWaaaa. I love that sound.
Quality is very nice so far.
What can I say....Mwaaaaa
Fast and easy.
Full spectrum
It's beautiful. When I opened the box my heart skipped a beat... so I repeated it in the next measure.
I played countless basses before I made the purchase, most of them in a much higher bracket, well all of them in a much higher bracket. I was very reluctant to purchase this because of the price. But I am glad I did. Almost a nine month process. This bass just felt right for me.
Good. I keep meaning to take it through a set up but then I start playing and get sidetracked.
