High Quality Rocker

What is your overall opinion of this product?
I was impressed beyond my already high expectations when this guitar arrived. I love everything about it... how it plays, how it sounds, and how it looks. I've been playing for 25 years and in active bands for about the past 10 years where I've had the money to buy top notch gear.. Gibson, Fender, PRS, Ibanez Prestige. My goto guitars have been Gibson Les Paul Standards for years now, so I've been looking for something with the same quality, but a little more modern edge to it and an orginal finish. ESP has done it with the Eclipse Standard.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
I would rank the quality of this guitar right up there with the other pro guitars. The frets are well done, the tuners feel well made, and the finish is "wow". The silver sparkle is quite an eye catcher.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
I'm used to rosewood fretboards, so the ebony felt a little hard, but it's easy enough to get used to. The tuners feel high quality, the neck felt really good in my hands. The neck joint is more comfortable than any other single cut guitar I've played. I love the XJumbo frets... so easy to shred. The body contour on the body allowed it to rest against my torso comfortably. Overall, this is one of the most comfortable guitars I've played. Far more comfortable than Gibson Les Paul, but not quite an Ibanez Prestige.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
The tone is what you would think a mahagony body with Duncan JBs would sound like... straight ahead balanced rock tones. The duncans really cut through the mix in the band, and it's got just the right balance of clairity and growl, at least for my taste.
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish is one of the highlights of this guitar. Despite it having a sparkle finish, it's flawless. Body and neck binding are perfect, too. There's more chrome on this guiar than I've ever seen, and it's all spotless. It really does have a custom guitar look.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
Definately, one of the best bang for your buck guitars out there.
How was the action out of the box?
Right out of the box, all I had to do was tune up the strings, and lower the bridge, bam! Perfect action; the neck and intonation was dead on as well.
