Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It's made a lot better than I was expecting from a chinese mid-priced guitar. ESP/LTD are known to be very strict when it comes to QC, so maybe this shouldn't have surprised me. I expect that will be very dependable.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I've only had the guitar a couple of days, but I don't see it failing in any way in the near future.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
This guitar has surpassed my expectations. I was a little nervous when I heard the newer Ltd's were being made in China, but this is one fine instrument.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
I really like the neck profile, it is very fast. It's a bit thicker than my other 7's but very comfortable. The string spacing is a bit tighter than my other 7's also.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Again, huge tone. Glassy and clear. EMG's sound great in mahogany.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish is quite nice and durable. I accidentaly clipped the top corner on a door frame while walking through my house. The finish did not come off, or even crack. There tiny flecks of overspray in a couple of places, but it is hardly noticable.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The initial setup was quite good. All I had to do out of the box was make a minor truss rod adjustment and slight intonation adjustments on two strings to account for my preferred tuning and string guage. In standard tuning with the factory strings it played great and was perfectly intonated.
