Incredible quality and tone for the price.

What is your overall opinion of this product?
I'll be completely honest here.. I wasn't too sure what kind of quality I'd be getting when I ordered it, but MAN.. ESP does it right. Excellent build quality, the tune-o-matic is set up perfectly, and this thing has damn near endless sustain. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The neck is a thin "u-contour" and it's extremely fast to play on. One of the reasons I went for this guitar is the fact that it has a "raw" neck. (no finish on it) This makes it nice for when you're going to be playing for a while, as I'm sure a lot of you know.. sweaty hands + finished neck = Sticky. :) One other thing I'd like to point out, is the fact that this guitar sits very comfortably in your lap. It doesn't want to move all over the place, or slide off your leg like some other guitars will.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
The ESP Designed LH-150's that come equipped on this guitar really impressed me. Even played through my amp on the dirty/OD channel, if you roll back a bit on the tone and the volume, you can get a nice almost acoustic sound out of them. And the heavy stuff is amazing as well.. I can get sounds similar to Metallica, Opeth, and as mellow as 311 with some level experimenting.
How did the stain or paint job look?
Although I believe the Flamed Maple "top" is actually a veneer, it still looks amazing. And when you think about it, a veneer is just a very thin slice of the wood, so it's still true flamed maple.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
Beyond satisfied with the quality of this instrument for the price. Although I don't own any other "entry-level" guitars, I've played many, and this one by FAR is better in every way, in my opinion.
