A good value for the features

Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
this guitar should have had two tone controls to balance out the sounds between the two pickups, the pickups sound too close to eachother tone wise which doesn't leave too much room for a variance in tone between the neck and the bridge pickups, as I said they sound similar to Gibson 490 pickups, a little tinny tone wise
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish is nice for a relic or aged look, but Esp needs to looks are real SG's that have aged and seen how the cherry fades on areas that has a lot of contact, it would be more faded in those areas and not have the cherry finish missing showing what appears to be bare wood, remember the actual cherry finishes are stained into the wood, and the areas where the finish comes off would be dark and weathered, but aside from that it's pretty good for this price range and beats the gibson faded finishes where you can feel the wood grain.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
out of the box, Esp and or American Musical Supply did a nice job on the setup, I don't use 10's so I redone the setup with 9's to suit my needs, got this guitar as a gift this past holiday season.
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This guitar is built like all of the SG style / Guild S100 style guitars, mahagony neck and body with a rosewood fretboard, set neck construction, a proven design that is very solid.
as with any guitar, if taken care of properly, it will last a long time.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I just got the guitar, and it seems to be very solid and well built, it should last a long, long time provided if it is taken care of properly and not abused.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
I have the see through aged cherry finish version, the aged finish is ok, they could have left some red stain in the worn areas like a real sg would have, just make those areas dull, the electronics are ok, the humbuckers sound like gibson 490's in some aspects, they are a little tinny sound wise, will replace them when I get the chance, otherwise the hardware and such are OK for a guitar in this price range, the tuning keys work well and so does the bridge and tail piece.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
the guitar is not neck heavy if you are "USED" to playing a guitar of this type, it feels like a 60's gibson neck crossed with an Ibanez neck, smooth and fast, I had to do a setup on my guitar, ernie ball super slinky 9's and low action, the action was good on the guitar, but I don't care for 10 gauge strings.

Great Deal For Such A Low Price !!!!

I love these ESP LH-150 Humbuckers and dare I say, I think they're far superior to what Epiphone has on their LP Standards and to some extent, on some of Gibson's lower priced models as well. To those who do complain about having a muddy tone, there is a solution and that is to, simply lower the pickup height. I have mine where they are just barely jutting out above the pickup rings and yet, I still am able to get not only a nice clean tone but at the same time, some serious distortion along with some sustain as well minus the muddiness.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Mine is in the Cherry Red finish and at first, I wasn't too crazy about the reliced look, but now I am used to it.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Everything was perfect right out of the box. The only thing I had to do was to put on a new set of strongs, that's it !
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This is one well made guitar IMO. I could not find a single flaw at all with it. The intonation was already set and the string height was just perfect. The fret edges are perfectly rolled with no fret buzz at all.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I just got mine 2 months ago and it has held up very well. I've already have used it at a few gigs with my band without a backup. This will without a doubt, last me a lifetime.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
I made the switch to ESP a few months ago based on the quality of their LTD models and have not been let down. They make quality guitars for a very reasonable price compared to what you would pay for say, a Fender or a Gibson but yet still get the same quality and sound and dare I say on some models such as this one, even better sounding !
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Of course with any SG type model, you're going to have that notorious neck heavy thing . That is something that you'll just have to deal with but in time you'll get used to it and it won't be a problem at all. This guitar does have a bit of weight to it and the neck does remind me of a mid 60's Gibson, but much faster and more enjoyable to play on. I could play this baby all day. I kid you not.

Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It feels solid, a set neck is always a plus, no real quality issues with mine other than being unbalanced.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
So far, so good. I don't expect any issues.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
Overall, it's not a horrible guitar, but it is unbalanced so while your playing you are also holding the neck from dropping to the floor which makes playing leads very difficult.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Again, other than being horribly neck-heavy it is a pretty decent guitar.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The only tone issue I have found is the muddy low end. The mids and highs really cut through and you can get some surprisingly good clean tones from the stock pickups. If you play heavier music or drop tunings I would definitely suggest swaping out the pickups.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Maybe from a distance it looks better but up close the finish is pretty bad. It looks nothing like a road worn guitar at all.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Fairly good action from the factory. I still made a few adjustments to the bridge but mostly to suit my preference.
