Great Sustain - Awesome Amp

I bought the Fender EVH 5150 III, with just the EVH 2x12 Cab. This is heavy duty and certainly road worthy. Just sold my JCM 800 because I no longer need it.

This amp is my favorite amp. The three channels with separate tone gain and presence gives so much more control than anything else I have ever used. You can go from a beautiful clean tone to a solid heavy crunch at the same volume then up a notch on the third channel to punch the leads up. This amp also has the best sustain I have ever got from any amp.

I've had the unit for 2 months and so far I've had no complaints. Built like a tank.

I recieved 5150III head, (Along with the 5150III 4 x 10 cabinet) late on that day. i was totally excited to get it unboxed and set-up and within 30 minutes the tubes were glowing and my Mockingbird Special X was plugged in.
I chose the white Head with the white cabinet and I'm glad I did. This rig is absolutely beautiful in white and saw no cosmetic defects such as scuffs or loose laminent or grill cloth. Powering up the rig gave me the sense of standing next to a drag car idling on the starting line. I could tell right away this rig was a beast!
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The head is pretty heavy. Cab is heavy too.
The footswitch has highly iluminated channel and effects loop switches which are pleasing visually.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Awesome tone. Best sounding amp I've ever heard bar none. All settings I've explored have been rich and clear. Even with channel 3 each note rings clear when playing chords at full gain.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish is beautiful. I chose the white head with the 4x10 white cabinet. The white really stands out and looks much better than the same old black.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
All controls feel nice and well made. There's no cheap, loose feel when dialing in your tone. All fluid, well made components.

So far it seems very well made. All the knobs are very smooth and sturdy, and the head itself is heavy as a tank.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far so good.

This head is a definite improvement over the previous generations of 5150s and 6505s. The versatility of this head is it's greatest trait, and the main reason for my purchase. If it's much larger price tag is warranted, I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pleased with the amp nonetheless.
