Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
Mine seems very well made. Quality tuners, custom pickups, and flawless finish. The neck is tinted nicely and finished well. I think the nut could have been finished/sanded a bit to help slight tuning issues, but that's standard setup stuff.

It's new, but will last
General
Your general opinion of this product.
I've never had or played a jag. I play an American strat and a custom Fano with p90s, so this is truly new territory to me. I wanted something different with pristine cleans...some jangle...and subtlety. That's exactly what this is. It took a big adjustment in my playing, as you will not be happy playing this for riff rock or blues... However, as I got to know it, I've really grown to love it.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It's light and the body is incredibly comfortable. The strat front body contour johnny marr gave it makes a nice difference. The smaller scale was new to me, and grew on me quickly. The trem is awesome, and I love how the arm stays where you place it.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
This is pretty bright. When you have the choke switches engaged, there is a bit of a volume cut, and little low end. The series "humbucker" position is not a hot humbucker tone. That said, as I mentioned, as I get to know this guitar, I really like it. The tones are new to me, which is awesome. You can get jangly high cleans, warmer fuller tones where 6 string chords sound beautiful. This guitar loves reverb and modulation effects because it is so clear. It has inspired my playing in new ways. Trem sounds great.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Gorgeous. I have the KO. beautiful.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Pretty good. Guitars from factories always benefit from a pro setup.

Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
It looks and feels like a Fender Custom Shop guitar. I got the white one.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Out of the box the action was perfect for me. The guitar was only slightly out of tune!

The high-water mark for my non-Custom Shop Fender guitars is my old Eric Clapton Strat. That Strat IS the best guitar I've ever played. It works for ME in all the right ways. I judge every guitar I play/purchase/own against that Strat.
I pre-ordered the Johnny Marr Jaguar for two reasons; 1) I love The Smiths and, 2) I was curious about the Jaguar and the tone it could bring.
At the sale price of $1,649, I took the shot. I assumed at that high, non-custom shop price this guitar would be incredibly well built with amazing fit and finish. I was right. This guitar is a very high quality instrument.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Just arrived last week...Therefore I really can't say.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
This guitar is very collectable and very playable. You CAN get Strat tones and all sorts of surf tones. Remember, this one has the big position #4 humbucker setting too. Big clean tone if you want it...Massive dirt if you need it.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Unique neck. Not a Fender U, C, or V. Not too big. Kinda flat on the back. Not too small. Feels nice compared to the soft-V Clapton Strat I spoke of above. Nice width, fine frets.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Strat tones which I love! Surf tones. Fatter humbucker tone in the #4 switch position. Lots of tonal opportunity here...I've only just begun to explore. (Using Hayseed 30 and VOX AC-30 in stereo).

This guitar is beautifully executed in every detail. Finish, fit, sound, action. Its everything Johnny describes.

Just got it - it did survive a Fedex trip from the East Coast to the West Coast - without a scrtch. This guitar is rock solid - I do not aniticipate any problems.

Your general opinion of this product.
I've waited for some time for the release of this model. I am a big Marr fan and the detail he put into this guitar did not dissapoint in any way. It is perfect and a beautiful jag.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
What drew me to this Jag - is Johnny took all the things I dislked about a Jag as well and fixed it. The neck is not too chunky and not too thin - the pickups are supreme. The bridge and tremelo fix are heavenly.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The pickups are a great surprise - just a little hot and with the wiring you can achieve dark to bright. It has so many different tones I am still trying to find my favorite.

How did the stain or paint job look?
I purchased the Orange metallic - and this is a beautiful finish. I had a shipped to the office and when it arrived and I opened the case players and nonplayers all commented on how beautiful it was. Its just eye popping.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The action out of the box was great. I have not had to tweak a thing. No buzz, no dead spots - and nicely setup.
