Product Rating Product Review Very happy with this purchase. Comfortable, responsive, neck; fretboard feels glassy smooth and bends are amazing: body contour for picking arm feels more like a fender (more comfortable to me); tone and articulation are dynamic and superb; All in all, I still prefer the American Original Jaguar.

Product Review The only thing smoother and more well-appointed than American Musical Supply is the Johnny Marr Jaguar. The playability, enhanced electronics and output, all make this instrument the best I’ve ever played. I’ve played vintage Jags, Modern Jags, and everything in between. The Marr version takes the cake! And the price is actually a bargain. “Custom shop” construction, but for 1/2 the price. Marr and Fender - a perfect collaboration. Well done!

Disappointed

Product Review I am very picky about my instruments and I was exited to receive my Johnny Marr model. But I must be honest I am dissatisfied with the flaws with the design. First of all the bridge is described as a Jaguar bridge with Mustang saddles. The truth is it is simply a Mustang bridge. The problem is that it is too wide and the outside E strings are at the edge of the neck. They could have designed a custom bridge for this model but were too lazy to do it and just slapped the Mustang on it. I took the guitar apart and upon inspection I noticed that the pickups have nothing to indicate that they are Bare knuckle pickups no logo or inscription. I really dislike the old style machine heads after years and years of using them. Locking Machine heads would have been nice since Johnny had already changed so many things about the Original Jag. So to say the least I am disappointed because I have to put more money into this guitar to make it right.

Product Review I love the sound of the bare knuckle pickups. They have a rich tone. The guitar stays in tune better than any other Fender I have owed. The guitar feels heavy and solid. I highly recommend.

Product Review So you’re clicking around. Wondering what differences may be between such beautiful Jaguars? Perhaps you’re in a state of uncertainty right now where you are wondering ‘is this worth it?’. The Johnny Marr model - is worth it. A peerless feel (I’ve tried them all) combined with top of the line craftsmanship deliver in full on these models. The modifications are such a vast vast improvement that you can spend more time playing, writing, than fixing the things that can go wrong like other Jags.

Product Review Johnny marr Is one of the most influential guitarist of all time. This guitar is amazing the minute I picked it up I could tell the attention to detail put into this guitar by Johnny Marr and Fender. The modifications to this particular Jaguar are Well thought out and very Useful. I’m very glad I own one now.

Product Review Awesome, ready to go right out of the box! The guitar is comfortable and sounds amazing through both my Marshall and Vox AC30. Bought mainly because I'm a huge Johnny Marr fan, but this is one of the best signature guitars I've ever played. Great quality. No issues whatsoever with the guitar. The case doesn't close all the way on one side. A minor detail, but it still bugs me. May be just a flaw on my particular case. Very comfortable weight, and the neck is smooth. I may lower the action a bit, but just my personal taste. Killer tone options. I love the pickups. I haven't played it live yet, but in rehearsals it cuts through nicely. I love the Olympic white. My favorite Fender finish. A little more than I was comfortable spending on a guitar, but no regrets. I love it. Ready to rock right out of the box. Was almost in perfect tune.

A new direction for me

Mine seems very well made. Quality tuners, custom pickups, and flawless finish. The neck is tinted nicely and finished well. I think the nut could have been finished/sanded a bit to help slight tuning issues, but that's standard setup stuff. It's new, but will last Your general opinion of this product. I've never had or played a jag. I play an American strat and a custom Fano with p90s, so this is truly new territory to me. I wanted something different with pristine cleans...some jangle...and subtlety. That's exactly what this is. It took a big adjustment in my playing, as you will not be happy playing this for riff rock or blues... However, as I got to know it, I've really grown to love it. It's light and the body is incredibly comfortable. The strat front body contour johnny marr gave it makes a nice difference. The smaller scale was new to me, and grew on me quickly. The trem is awesome, and I love how the arm stays where you place it. This is pretty bright. When you have the choke switches engaged, there is a bit of a volume cut, and little low end. The series "humbucker" position is not a hot humbucker tone. That said, as I mentioned, as I get to know this guitar, I really like it. The tones are new to me, which is awesome. You can get jangly high cleans, warmer fuller tones where 6 string chords sound beautiful. This guitar loves reverb and modulation effects because it is so clear. It has inspired my playing in new ways. Trem sounds great. Gorgeous. I have the KO. beautiful. Pretty good. Guitars from factories always benefit from a pro setup.

The high-water mark for my non-Custom Shop Fender guitars is my old Eric Clapton Strat. That Strat IS the best guitar I've ever played. It works for ME in all the right ways. I judge every guitar I play/purchase/own against that Strat. I pre-ordered the Johnny Marr Jaguar for two reasons; 1) I love The Smiths and, 2) I was curious about the Jaguar and the tone it could bring. At the sale price of $1,649, I took the shot. I assumed at that high, non-custom shop price this guitar would be incredibly well built with amazing fit and finish. I was right. This guitar is a very high quality instrument. Just arrived last week...Therefore I really can't say. Your general opinion of this product. This guitar is very collectable and very playable. You CAN get Strat tones and all sorts of surf tones. Remember, this one has the big position #4 humbucker setting too. Big clean tone if you want it...Massive dirt if you need it. Unique neck. Not a Fender U, C, or V. Not too big. Kinda flat on the back. Not too small. Feels nice compared to the soft-V Clapton Strat I spoke of above. Nice width, fine frets. Strat tones which I love! Surf tones. Fatter humbucker tone in the #4 switch position. Lots of tonal opportunity here...I've only just begun to explore. (Using Hayseed 30 and VOX AC-30 in stereo). It looks and feels like a Fender Custom Shop guitar. I got the white one. Out of the box the action was perfect for me. The guitar was only slightly out of tune!

This guitar is beautifully executed in every detail. Finish, fit, sound, action. Its everything Johnny describes. Just got it - it did survive a Fedex trip from the East Coast to the West Coast - without a scrtch. This guitar is rock solid - I do not aniticipate any problems. Your general opinion of this product. I've waited for some time for the release of this model. I am a big Marr fan and the detail he put into this guitar did not dissapoint in any way. It is perfect and a beautiful jag. What drew me to this Jag - is Johnny took all the things I dislked about a Jag as well and fixed it. The neck is not too chunky and not too thin - the pickups are supreme. The bridge and tremelo fix are heavenly. The pickups are a great surprise - just a little hot and with the wiring you can achieve dark to bright. It has so many different tones I am still trying to find my favorite. I purchased the Orange metallic - and this is a beautiful finish. I had a shipped to the office and when it arrived and I opened the case players and nonplayers all commented on how beautiful it was. Its just eye popping. The action out of the box was great. I have not had to tweak a thing. No buzz, no dead spots - and nicely setup.
