No flaws and the neck is soooo easy to play with its increasing size the higher you go it strrts witha 9# radius and ends up at 14#'s making it a musicians dream to play. Chording is effortless no matter how high up the fretboard you go Reliability How has it stood up over time? It's an American Deluxe it'll last you forever if you die when you should! Overall Your general opinion of this product. The S-1 Switching really gives this guitar the edge over the other models. So many selections and so much versatitlity it has so much more to offer than the other strats and the locking tuners just seal the deal! Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? You'll never find a better playing better feeling guitar than an American Deluxe and that's as it should be. these guitar are built to last a life time and they will out live you unless you abuse the Sh#@ out of them and if you do you shouldn't own one. With S-1 switching you can get almost any tone you want and almost all of them are useable and the versatility is amazing Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Not a flaw to be found. It's an American Deluxe and everthing is perfect just like it should be. Frets are so smooth and the neck feellike satin I absolutely LOVE this guitar the action is absolutely PERFECT!

No effort at all to bend the strings and play chords. Controls are very easy to reach as well as engaging the S-1 switch. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Even with the N3 pickups, it still has that unique Fender tone. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? This gets 10 stars! I have the amber version and the finish is so beautiful! You can see the wood grain patterns with this type of finish. Action How was the action out of the box? The action was pretty good out of the box. I still to set it up for my type of playing.

Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Pickups sound great and the SI switch is a welcome touch. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Paint was great but the pickgaurd was scratched like crazy. Looked like someone had been working on it. The protective cover and the SI emblem had been removed also on the back plate plastc was removed. Feels like I bought a used guitar instead of a new one. Did not return it but corrected all the problems myself. Action How was the action out of the box? Action was good but the bridge was at around a 30 degree angle, not level. Had to take back off and adjust. Then had to set the intonation.

Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? depends on neck material, rosewood is warm. you get single coil sound (but I can only compare to gibson). Finish How did the stain or paint job look? yes, it looks way better than the picture. Really nice case, too (but i didnt need the cord or strap). Action How was the action out of the box? great out of the box, but all new guitars should get a pro setup.
