What is your opinion of this product?
First, I got it as a dent and scratch, and cannot find a single flaw anywhere on the guitar save for a cat-hair sized mark on the bottom side, which I'm not even sure qualifies. So, I feel I got a brand-new guitar in perfect condition for a great deal. I played a '52 reissue for the last 12 years or so but felt the sound was getting monotonous so I sold it. I have a Strat but feel every house should have a Telecaster, so when I spotted this James Burton Standard for the price, I took a chance. I can't believe how good it sounds and feels, especially with both pick-ups on (middle switch position). It's a thicker neck but one-piece and smooth as silk, like on the American Deluxes from a few years back. I agree with one reviewer who said it was the best-sounding Tele since hearing the Nocaster Relic. It's that good, the Texas Specials sound perfect, I have a set in my homemade Strat, which influenced me to take a chance. For the price, it should include a hardshell case. Thank you AMS!
