What is your overall opinion of this product?
First rate. This one is everything I love about the 60s original Fender Basses.
What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music?
This bass is as good as any reissue Fender Bass I've seen. I've owned Fender American reissue Jazz and P Basses. I can't tell any difference between this one and those.
Are the features on the product what you were expecting? What are your favorite features?
The laquer finish is very good. It makes all the difference for tone and feel. I hate that plastic acrylic stuff. Only complaint is they forgot the thumb rest. Classic is classic and I want my thumb rest. I'll have to put one on. High quality materials throughout.
Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Feels great. Very smooth finish and the neck adjusted perfectly.
How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin?
Tone is just what I love about the vintage Jazz bass. Has that string steel sound with good bottom.
How did the stain or paint job look?
The sunburst looks just right. No blemish anywhere and
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
This was a great buy for the price. Paid a lot more for a 62 reissue Fender P bass. This one is every bit it's equal. In fact, for the price it's the best deal I've ever had on a new Fender.
How was the action out of the box?
I always have to adjust the neck out of the box. Strings are always too high for me, but this bass adjusted very well with just a bit more truss and lowering the strings a bit.
