General What is your overall opinion of this product? I've been playing blues on strat's and tele's all my life and finally decided to give the Classic Player Jazzmaster a try after hearing another blues player using one at a live show. All I can say is WOW. I've really been missing out of some great tone the last 50 years. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Came packaged in un-opened original box from Fender, with all case candy, trem arm and gig bag. AMS shipped FREE and it got here in two days! Set-up, fit and finish were all great. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Action was set low and fast. Neck feels a bit thicker than the modern "c" shape, but not by much. Frets are finished well, neck is straight and no string buzz. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? The tone is fantastic! I am able to get everything from bright clean tele twang to jazzy muted woman tone, to dirty gibson humbucker mayhem out of this, thanks to all the cool controls. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I was worried that the polyester finish would be too thick (like the old days) but it's a thin finish no thicker than fender polyurethane. The gloss polyester body paint and the gloss polyurethane neck finishes are flawless. Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? I bought the FSR model in Olympic White for the same price as you can get the standard sunburst or black one, so I think this was a good deal. It should hold its value well since it's in a limited edition color. Playability How was the action out of the box? I usually have to adjust the action on a new guitar, but after tuning up to pitch, this one felt good right out of the box, so I didn't fiddle with it. It comes with 10's for strings, which is what I normally play, so I left those on as well.

General What is your overall opinion of this product? as with all non american fender products some final tweaking is needed to get it in top playing shape. once the action was lowered and the pick ups were lowered and a treble bleed was installed this thing plays like heaven. tone for days in all positions and with my vibrolux well let's just say they were made for each other. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? the over all quality is very good and for jazz, rock and even blues it does all of it. They only thing I can;t use it for is motown but I have strats for that., Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? the weight of the body is great, the neck feels great and the pick ups provide all sorts of tones. it will be a while before I can say I know everything this thing can do and that is a good thing. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? only played it for a couple of hours so far and I've been able to figure out the surf, blues and jazz sounds and they are all they wee I expected except I was not expecting a blues tone from it but it does have one. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? did not find any flaws in the finish and the color is great Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Well worth it but I believe Fender can do better with the gig bag. The ones that come with the PRS SE's are way better and they sell for $49. Playability How was the action out of the box? too high for my hands. Needed to be lowered and the tremolo lock needed to be adjusted as it was out of pitch when locked.

General What is your overall opinion of this product? I'm impressed. This guitar is better than my original pre-CBS 1961 Jazzmaster. The redesigned tune-a-matic style bridge is a major improvement. No more low E strings popping out of those little grooves. You can't do individual string height adjustments. For most players, this is a good idea. You can't do them on a Gibson Les Paul either. It seems to stay in tune better as well while using the whammy. I'm very impressed with the quality of this Mexican built guitar. It played great right out of the box. The "hotter" pickups are excellent. With both pickups on, you get a super twangy hum canceling sound. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Grade A. Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Perfect Fender style neck. I also prefer the extra distance between the bridge and the vibrato tail piece. It gives the strings a looser feel. Easier to bend. Strats are very tight and stiff in this regard. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? See overall above. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Perfect Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Such a deal Playability How was the action out of the box? Perfect. I might need to adjust the intonation slightly.

General Your general opinion of this product. Looks and sounds like a classic Jazzmaster, but will go into death metal crunch with ease. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Came with a decent setup in it. Paint is beautiful. The only complaint I have is that the 3-way pickup switch feels a bit chinsy, but that can be quickly and easily replaced. Screw in trem-arm is much better than the old press in arms. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Anything and everything. I use a single channel Jet City amp that doesn't have all that much gain and I can get an almost perfect Dimebag sound without any pedals using this guitar. My Bare Knuckle Warpig equipped ESP can't do that. Cleans are bright and jazzy, just what you'd expect from a guitar called the Jazzmaster. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The white with tortoise shell pickgaurd is an amizing looking combination. The rosewood looks like it just has a minor finish done on it. As far as I'm concerned it looks perfect.
