I've only had it for two weeks, but this is a Fender Strat and will surely outlive me. General Your general opinion of this product. Love the way it plays and sounds. Came set up nicely right out of the box. I may eventually upgrade to Seymour Duncan pickups, but I want to get to know the guitar better first before I go making any mods. It was designed by the guitar design master. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? With two single-coil and one humbucker pickup, this thing is very versatile for tones. The five-way switch also helps get the best out of the pickups by combining two at a time. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I got mine in Olympic white and it is stunning! No paint flaws I can see. Action How was the action out of the box? The action and intonation was perfect right out of the package. I also have a Les Paul and the frets on the Strat are a little bit "taller." That's not a major issue. Bends are easier on the Strat and the slightly narrower neck seems to fit my hand better. The Les Paul is feeling a little bit lonely since I got the Strat.
