General What is your overall opinion of this product? Flaws and blemishes in the finish. First, there are chunks of splintery wood left over in the f-hole. It obviously doesn't effect the overall sound, but it is unflattering to look at. I would sand this down, if I wasn't going to return the guitar. There are little white specs on the front of the body. Beware of the bridge/nut. The string alignment is off entirely too much. It's almost impossible to get a clean bend out of the bottom E string. The string is too close to the end of the fretboard, and it's very easy to bend it past that end (making it almost sound like a dead note). The pickups on this thing do sound really, really great. It's a shame that the design and build of the guitar takes so much away with it. My advice. Do not buy this instrument, unless you play on doing serious modification. I purchased this guitar because of the price. I was naive in thinking that this would be a deal. Once again, I am taught that you get what you pay for. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Pretty much summed it up above, in terms of quality. When it comes to tones, you can achieve a lot out of this instrument. The volume knob really helps a lot with tone control (along with the pickup switch. Blues/rock players will like it for the tone (nothing else). Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Typical maple neck. Bright tones, fast. it's a little chunky. As mentioned above, the bottom e string goes over the fretboard with ease (which can be a problem. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? Beautiful, rich tone. A little "jangliness" (likened to a gretsch). Finish How did the stain or paint job look? There are a few blemishes on this guitar. You can't tell unless you look close, but they are there. The people at the factory rushed (per usual), and didn't paint the inside of the wood in the f-hole. Had the potential to be a beautiful guitar (I got it in the two-tone sunburst). Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Well, I initially thought I would be getting a superior axe for a steal of a deal. Sadly, I was wrong. I got what I paid for. An inferior guitfiddle with numerous issues. Will be trading in for another model Thinline Playability How was the action out of the box? This thing has all kind of problems with action, intonation and string alignment. It's awful.
Great guitar,something a little different

General What is your overall opinion of this product? Sounds great ,plays great. Got mine in Gold,a real looker. Quality What is your opinion of the quality of this product? How does it work for different genres of music? Country, rock, blues ,can't see it being used for heavy metal but someone out there will prove me wrong. I will replace the pickguard with a black one to match the F hole.White one is an eyesore Feel Heavy, fast, chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Pretty much a standard feeling fender. Not to big ,not to small. Tone How is the tone? Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick or thin? No tone control but if you're like me you either use it wide open or not at all. I don't even miss it.Great for Roy Buchanan style volume swells. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Flawless .beautiful gold Value Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range? Replace the POS gigbag with a hardshell.Just asking for trouble with a gigbag.Fender mexico has been making some incredibly great instruments for the bucks. Playability How was the action out of the box? Spot on.Will replace strings with a 10- 46 set.
Pleasantly Surprised.

General Your general opinion of this product. As the title says, I was pleasantly surprised by this guitar. I'd had my mind set on purchasing something along the lines of a Gibson or an Ibanez, something with a definite ability to take some decent gain and maintain tonal versatility. That is certainly this guitar. Since getting it in the mail, I've fallen in love with the thing, and I've since taken a more serious look into Fenders and gained a lot of respect for the brand as a whole. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It's been under a month (too soon to render proper judgment), but from what I can tell, this Tele will hold up well over time. Feels solid. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? If you were concerned that mini-humbuckers can't handle distortion, then allow me to assuage your worries. They can. The clarity in these things is kind of unbelievable. The cleans are crisp and bright, so you might wanna dial the volume back a bit at times , but without any push or kick, the raw guitar tone is very nice. This is by no means a doom metal machine, but I'll be a fool if it isn't close. Lows still come out decently. I have a very eclectic approach to playing (blues, progressive, a bit of metal, etc.), and this thing handles it all quite well. Hotter than I thought, lays it on as thickly or thinly as you want. Very versatile. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Got it in whtie blonde. Looks amazing to me. Slick, shiny, no mistakes to be found. At times it looks like the whitest white and at times, it looks creamy. Never fails to impress.
