Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This was my first Mexican Fender product, and I have been surprised how nice it is. Everything feels solid and looks great. My stock bridge was crappy, though, so I changed it. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I have had it about 1 1/2 years. I wouldn't expect any issues. Overall Your general opinion of this product. The one -- and only -- thing that has been a problem with the Jazzmaster is the stock bridge. The strings didn't sit well on it and it just felt kind of cheap. I changed it to a modified Mustang bridge from Warmoth, and it made this one of my go-to guitars. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The neck feels like a typical Strat to me (which is a good thing). The controls are simple and effective. The volume knob is far enough away that I don't hit it by accident when I'm playing. I'd rather have the toggle in a Gibson-like position (like my JA-90 Tele), but that's just personal preference. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The sound surprised me. The neck pickup is articulate and full, the bridge humbucker has more drive. I have about 20 guitars and I was trying different ones to find the right sound for a new band. When I brought the Jazzmaster, the band agreed, right from the first song, that this was the right guitar. I often change the pickups on my guitars -- not on this one, though. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? It's a good-looking guitar. I have the sunburst. Mine was a B-grade because of a little sloppiness on the headstock finish, but no one but me has ever noticed (and it took me a little while to find the blemish), so I'd expect the full-priced ones to be pretty good. Action How was the action out of the box? Mine was playable out of the box, but I always tweak my guitars.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? THIS IS A SCRATCHED AND DENTED PIECE.THE FLAW I FOUND WAS WITH THE UNDER LYING BLACK GLOSS FINISH .I HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE ON MANY GUITARS ( MOSTLY BLACK)THAT STILL SOLD FOR TOP DOLLARS.NO BIG DEAL. Reliability How has it stood up over time? LOOKS STURDY ENOUGH . JUST GOT IT,, BUT I FOR SEE NO FUTURE PROBLEMS. Overall Your general opinion of this product. ANOTHER EXCELLENT MEXICAN MADE FENDER GUITAR. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? JAZZY FEEL AND SOUND .SLICK AND FAST. CONTROLS WELL PLACED. IT'S A FENDER NOTHING BEATS A FENDER IF THATS' WHAT YOU LIKE TO PLAY. GO FOR IT. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? ALREADY MENTIONED . Finish How did the stain or paint job look? LIKE I MENTIONED EARLIER A DEFECT IN FINNISH.OTHER THEN THAT IT LOOKS GREAT. Action How was the action out of the box? THE ACTION OUT OF THE BOX WAS GOOD . NOT EXCELLENT. I SET MY GUITARS UP MY SELF.ONLY NEEDED TO TWEAK THE NECK RELIEF FROM .015" TO .010" AND DROP STRING HEIGHT DOWN A BIT .MOST PEOPLE WON'T EVEN NOTICE ADJUSTMENT.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? Its a fender of course it exudes quality. And let me tell you something to. I don't understand where people get off saying Oh if you do not buy an american fender it is not a real fender. Well let me tell you debbie downers it is a real fender. Just because it's made in good ol'mexico doesn't mean fender will skimp on quality. If I can buy a fender for half the price of an american made one, and get the same tones and quality you bet your short skirts I am going with the Mexico model. So get off your high horse and give them a try!! Reliability How has it stood up over time? From owning fender guitars for well over 17 years I have know worries that this will hold up. This guitar will be here hundreds if not more years from now. And I am not joking either. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Great guitar for somebody that does not want the typical stratocaster. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? First off the strings included should not even have been on this guitar or any jazzmaster. All jazzmaster guitars require Flatwound strings. And that is what you should buy and put on this guitar no other strings should be used. There are several companies that make them the very best are number 1 pyramid and number 2 D'Addario. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? You can make this guitar do any tone you want. Since you are not restricted to the standard 2 jazzmaster pickups. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The best it is a fender they don't skimp on quality. Action How was the action out of the box? It was perfect, for me at least other's may want lower or higher.

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? It is about 8 out of the box and 9 after a good setup and will be attend if I smack on some Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder on the Neck and D'Marzio PAF in the bridge. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I just got it but Im sure it will last for a long time, this is basically a starter guitar with a Humbucker but I just bought it to experiment without modding my 66 Reissue and also to jam without worrying about damage. The tremolo will out of tune this guitar like crazy if you dont know how to use it properly but I never use one. Overall Your general opinion of this product. Wow, this jazzmaster is great, I wouldn't gig it but I think it would hold up. I was planning on replacing my 66 Reissue jazzmaster with a D'Marzio HB on the bridge but now I wont have to. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? The neck is smooth with the Gloss finish but I felt like like a fender, no difference. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? Its a jazzmaster you can get a great feedback with it as you know a Jazzmaster does and if you dont care for that just switch to the humbucker and your Jazzmaster will singing like a Les Paul. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Finish was flawless, I got the black with the mint green. What a beauty. Action How was the action out of the box? Ewwwww, the action was real high, with those nasty Fender strings (.09)had to lower it and smacked on some DR 10 to get that real Jazzmaster sound.
