Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? This Made In Mexico Fender is very well made and very high quality, especially considering the price. It seems like a durable instrument. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I've only had it for a month. General Your general opinion of this product. I love it. I just wish the factory setup was better. It's definitely not ready to go out-of-the-box. Be prepared to spend some time adjusting pickup height, action, neck relief and intonation. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? This instrument is heavy and intonation is an issue. I enjoy the chunky, glossy neck and jumbo frets. The control layout is familiar. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The pickups on this instrument are good enough and the HSS configuration with 5-way switch allows for varied tones. The humbucker is definitely designed for rock. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? I ordered the Ghost Silver finish and let me tell you, it is absolutely stunning. The paint has depth and reflects light like crazy. Action How was the action out of the box? The action needed adjusting out of the box.
A great low-end guitar with huge frets... not quite a bass, not quite a guitar

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? So far I really enjoy it. I had the action and the neck setup by a pro soon after buying it (it traveled acrost the country in a box via UPS... it survived that!) and it plays really great now. Reliability How has it stood up over time? ??? let me get back to you ... General Your general opinion of this product. I like to play a variety of styles and techniques, and this instrument achieves everything I desire... I especially enjoy the huge frets. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? It is actually quite light. I used to own a Fender Jazz MIM bass that was probably 3x as heavy as this guitar. The controls are great, easy to maneuver, and the necks feels like a part of my hand. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The pickups are a little wanky, but I find this issue with most Fender products anyways. I did want single-coils so I was happy to see that it had two of them; I kind of wonder why the humbucker isn't on the neck tho. After experimenting around I found a different voice on each pickup and they grew on me. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? sexy evil. I got lots of compliments already. Action How was the action out of the box? borderline. I did play it out of anticipation as soon as it arrived, but the low strings were a bit buzzy. I had the action and the neck configured and now it is great.
