Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
As well made as any new Fender. Not the finese of say, a PRS (I own a McCarty) but very well done. The hardtail bridge is nice, adjusts easy and provides good sustain.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I have a 04 US Tele and it is sold as a rock. My last Tele was an 1983 Elite that I owned for 20+ years and it was solid as a rock at 10 lbs.
General
Your general opinion of this product.
Great primary Axe. Can be sweet or nasty. Bridge PU setting is outstanding clean or dirty. Has a primarily Telecaster sound but "meatier". Pretty well made. Nice case.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Neck is a little narrower than a stand Tele but still a good radius and feels comfortable. Easy to adjust to when switching guitars.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Pups are semi hot and lean toward the warmer side but make no mistake, it still has the Tele sounds with a bit of the hard edge taken off. TV/Filtertrons are one of my favorite (used of my Gretsch 6121 as well) and work extremely well with the Tele design. This could be your primary guitar or add it to the stable. It is unique and has it own voice however instatly recognizable as a Tele. Perhaps a bit pricy for what you get but a heck of a lot less than a Custom Shop.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Satin neck back is nice. Good sunburst finish.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action is OK with 9's. I use 10's as I want a little more tone. Made some saddle adjustments and it is pretty good. Need to get a bit lower though.
