Your general opinion of this product.
It would be hard to beat this guitar for the price.
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It is very well made. I especially like the bigger, darker looking headstock. I used it exclusively for solo's on my latest album with extra light strings. I had no problem keeping it in tune and I am a string bender from hell.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
It plays fast and smooth. The neck actually felt better to me than the Strat I've been playing for years. The knobs are right there and easy to get to.
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
This guitar can be bright and snappy or dark and smooth depending on how you EQ it. The P/U'S are hot.
How was the action out of the box?
The action needed a little tweeking, but it was certainly playable right off the rack.
How did the stain or paint job look?
I got the chocolate one and the thing is flawless. A really sweet looking electric. No way does this guitar look like it only costs 400 bucks. Let me put it this way, no coffee table I've ever seen looks this good.
How has it stood up over time?
I've had mine about 5 mos now and it's been very reliable. I usually use at least 2 or 3 different electrics on my albums, but I just really dug this thing for some reason. I was able to get a lot of different sounds from it.
