Stays in tune for days. Do not forsee any problems
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
Is great guitar at this price. I want one fiesta red and lake placid blue. I have a sunburst.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The ability to vibrato easily, you just squeez hard and do it. Lovely. It's fairly light. The gloss neck gets faster as it warms up. Like skidding a car in the snow.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Right on time, what you expect with Squier. Is bright and jangly.
The alnico 3 pickups makes it very authentic sounding. It's easy to love this guitar.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Excellent.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Very good.

Great product at the price point. Superior to Fender MIM and MIC models and other Squiers. Terrific overall value from a great sounding instrument.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The neck is the best part of the guitar, it's smooth as glass, super fast and comfortable.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
The pups are voiced for the classic sound, very bright and twangy...leans a little on the harsh side. That combined with the maple neck makes for a guitar that lacks a bit of warmth. The 60's model takes care of this of you need something a bit darker or bluesier.
As you'd expect from a strat, even though everything is bright, there are a lot of tonal options.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
It looks like I expected it to. No flaws. I got fiesta red - it looks like a toy and my daughter thought that it was dark pink. The neck is beautiful.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
A little high out of the box. A few quick turns on the bridge and I was set.

The best " bang for the buck " guitar on the market !

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
The Classic Vibe line has build quality that FAR more expensive guitars do not. The finish is perfect, the frets are well dressed, and the tuners hold tune very well.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I have only had it for a month but I would think it should last a lifetime.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I have owned this guitar for 1 month now and just cannot say enough good things about it. I have been a Les Paul player for years. I have owned USA Fender, MIM Fender, and USA G&L; I play this guitar more than I EVER played any of the other models.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
This is where the CV 50s shines. It has the most comfortable neck profile of ANY Strat that I've ever owned at ANY price point. It is fast and so easy to play; I have to make myself put it down !
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
As I mentioned; I have plans to upgrade the pups but the stock models are very useable. They sound like most stock Fender pickups to my years; while they definantly have that Fender " twang ", they can be a bit " piercing " when playing in the upper frets.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The finish was perfect. I have the Lake Placid Blue model and there is not one flaw.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
As I bought mine second-hand in mint condition I cannot speak of the factory set-up but that is all up to each individuals tastes anyway. Most guys will tweak any guitar they buy.

Thin sounding III single coils with strat sound

Squier has re-invented themselves with the vibe series guitars! An incredible guitar and cheap! Better than Mexican Fender in my opinion. The quality really is incredible.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The guitar is very comfortable and not heavy. The neck, "C" shape, is smooth and very comfortable. Not too wide or to narrow.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Everything from that 50's-early 60's bright sound to a warm mellow tone. Sounds great.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish is great. Aged maple neck and headstock. Even the pups and control knobs have the aged off white color to them. The pick guard is kind of cheap looking but serves it's purpose. It can be replaced, so no big deal.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
This is the only fault I found with the guitar! From the box it was badly in need of a setup. The truss rod was backed off almost all the no noticeable tension. The bridge saddles were set very high. After tweaking it over the course of a few days it is now playing great. No frett buzz. Action set fairly low.

Other than the Classic Vibes 50's tele and 60's strat, you will not find a better guitar in the price range! In-fact, you'd be hard-pressed to find a guitar that plays this well for twice the money! This model easily compares to Fender's MIM (Made In Mexico) line, and, don't laugh, you can compare the tone of this guitar to some of their American strats. In-fact, to my ear, this sounds better than most MIM's strats and some American strats!
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I just got the guitar. So, I can't say. But, I do know Squier products hold up quite well over time and this guitar appears to be one of their best builds. So, it should out-live me by a long-shot!
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
Shockingly good! The first one that arrived shouldn't have left the factory, but it did. As usual, no questions asked! American Musical immediately exchanged the guitar and the exchange guitar, again, is shockingly good!
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
The neck on this one is perfect. It's not too thin and not too fat. My fingers just fall into place all over the fret board! The pickups respond to subtle technique like some of the best, most expensive pickups I've ever played! All of the controls function perfectly!
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
...you will cream over the 2/4 positions. Classic Fender strat quack. The bridge, middle, and neck pickups are shielded quite well so there's minimal single coil noise that is fixed easily via rolling off the volume a bit or engaging a noise gate, typical of all single coil strats, but this one is the most quiet but clear and articulate single coil configuration I've ever played! If you're looking for the classic strat sound, this is it!
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The paint is perfect! Instead of a thick, heavy coat of paint that muffles the tone, this one has the perfect amount of paint to allow the guitar's tone to breathe and resonate extremely well!
Action
How was the action out of the box?
The action out of the box was extremely playable! The intonation was a bit off, but it appears they actually invested a lot of time in setting this one up at the factory.

How was the action out of the box?
mine was set up badly and is in need of a good fret job.Up at the 20 and 21 frets its pretty bad. i cant really afford a proffesional fret job right now so im stuck with what ive got for the moment. im comparing this guitar to my gibsons and other fenders ive owned.compared to any other 350 or less guitar its not that bad.
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
excellent quality for asian made. no real complaints from me.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
very nice. great looking two color sunburst and i really dig the old style tuners.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
Overall i dont regret buying this guitar. Im not sure that i would choose this over the fender standard if i were buying it again. the mexican standard's ceramic magnet pickups are superior perfoming to these. i'd like to hear the fender "50's" strat with the alnico 3 PU's side by side with my squire.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
pretty fast over all. has the normal amount of buzz for a "vintage" design. i only play "vintage" designs and for good old guitar hero rock and electric blues it plays and feels exactly as a good old strat should. snappy.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
ive already mentioned what i think of the pickups. if you like very brite, and slightly underpowered these are perfect. im going to experiment with some higher powered PU's.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
just fine. i dont like polyester finishes generally but hey, even fender uses them on some custom shop models these days. PRS dosent use Nitro either, but i dont use PRS instruments.
