Subject:Wow! This little thing is GREAT!
Quality: The Fender PD150 Deluxe Passport PA System seems to be well made. It feels quite solid and well put together. However, the control knobs feels just a little like cheap ones but still perform very well. The speakers are solid and feel like it could manage a little abuse. Definitely not for the road all the time and I don't think it was meant to be.
Features: I like all the features especially the best of all; PORTABILITY. It fits in my car's rear floor just behind the driver's seat not to mention it is lightweight. The only thing I wish was a bit better was the included Fender Microphone. I won't ever use it to sing, period. I guess I would use it for other activities where singing is not involved and don't want to risk my good mics.
Ease of Use: This little PA is so easy to use that my wife, without knowing pretty much anything about PA's or music in general, learned to use it by herself by just looking at the instructions. She set it up to surprise me. It takes just a bit more or less than 15 minutes to set it up at my parish including mounting the speakers on their stands. That's what call ease of use.
Sound: I bought this system because AMS' great return policy. I thought I had nothing to loose if it didn't meet my needs. As soon as I received it I started to test it at home. I used all my acoustic guitars both classical and steel strings and to my surprise it performed very well, however, not as good as with my acoustic amp. I was able to perfect the sound of my acoustics with the use of the MXR M-108 equalizer. Then, I tested it at the church and to my surprise it performed very well. I used two mics,my Takamine EC132SC Classical Acoustic Electric Guitar and a Yamaha electronic drum pad. All the voices and instruments sounded clearly, discernible and balanced. however, I wish it has a little more low frequency headroom. But for a small choir it is more than sufficient. I'll keep using it at church.
