Controls are fine. The built in tuner is a bit slow from string to string. But it is quite accurate. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? All of the above. Solid spuce big top gives it a bright, bassy sound. This baby sounds nice. The Sonicore p/u under the saddle has a nice mellow sound to it plugged in. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? Beautiful. It has a very blonde look to it, nice. Action How was the action out of the box? A little high. I set it up myself and adjusted the neck a bit and filed down the saddle slightly. Now it plays like a dream.

And the neck being satin makes it very smooth to play all the way up the scale. The controls are easily acessible.
