A Classic Strat
Blake C. from Shreveport, Louisiana United States
Quality
Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
This product is made very well, and should help diminish the stigma fender snobs have about Mexican made strats.
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
Seems to be very reliable and consistent. I have had zero trouble with quality.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
This guitar embodies the origins of one of America's most beloved guitars. Very good for blues and classic rock.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
With vintage frets, a 7.25 radius and soft "v" shape, the neck makes fast playing easy as cake.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
True to the old 50s models, the tone is semi-bright and sort of thin, with exception of the neck and middle pickups. The neck pup gets a great blues thickness, but the bridge is a bit to thin.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
The tinted maple neck is a beaut and the paint job (mine is daphne blue) is wonderful.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action came nice and low, which made for easy and fast playing.

Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable?
It's Mexican, but I still think it was made with love. Not as solid as my Les Pauls but it's not a Les Paul, right?
Reliability
How has it stood up over time?
I've only owned it for a few months but I've been playing for about 40 years. I'll let you know.
Overall
Your general opinion of this product.
I really like teh surf green body with maple fretboard, but the soft V neck feels absolutely awesome.
Playability and Feel
How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing?
Like I said, I really like the soft V neck. Very fast and comfortable.
Tone
Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin?
Pickups were fairly bright sounding. Good classic Strat tone. I design and build my own amps, so I can't say how it would sound with any particular amp, but I'm sure it would be nice.
Finish
How did the stain or paint job look?
Finish was flawless.
Action
How was the action out of the box?
Action was not oo bad. Set up a little high for my taste. I lowered the action and re-intonated it. Didn't need much tweaking.
