This classic Fender packs a lot of punch for a small 20 watt solid state amp. It sounds great and has a nice features. Compact lightweight design that is very easy to carry and travel with. Fits perfectly on top of a small bookshelf.

I love this amp. It is small enough to practice at home and big enough for small gigs. The modeling is great and covers every amp I would ever need. The fx are good too, no need for any pedals for what I play. Will recommend it to others. AMS has the best service and shipping!!!

This little amplifier is killer for practice. I bought two of them for brothers who have been playing a little over a year. They needed something other than clean on the tiny 2watt amp they shared and have been leaning on. The effects (especially the distortion) sound very good for the size and are easy to use and adjust. This has lit a fire in both boys and they are looking forward to learning more. Their mother loves the amps too because they have headphone jacks. I wish I had an amp like this when I first started playing!

The amplifier came packed in two boxes and styrofoam.Very safe and secure.The package arrived here very quickly.Two thumbs up for AMS????.It sounds awesome with all the sound effects;the chorus and flanger sound especially nice. There are treble and bass knobs to adjust the equalization and tone. There is even a wah effect that sounds so cool I just had to smile.?? There are also different types of distortion each more intense than the other.The amp is also surprisingly loud for it's size.I would highly recommend this amp and AMS to anyone! Happy shopping.

Wow is all I can say. Got this little baby and when I opened it the size is great for what I will be using it for. When I plugged it in I was thinking it wouldn't get super loud just because it's a smaller amp but I was pleasantly surprised. It is pretty loud does not give any feedback the louder I turn it up. Very crisp and clear when I play. It is everything I was looking for and more.

Arrived in perfect shape and on time, Right out of the box the little amp had a great sound, I am still finding new settings beyond the Blues-Rock settings that dialed up quick. Headphones make finding your sound too easy. A "pop" after shut down is annoying

I own a Champion 100 2x12, a Champion 40 1x12, and now the 20 1x8. The 20 watt amp provides the power you need and all the Fender tone that the other Champion amps have. The volume is crazy good for a small amp. The effects and amp types are top notch. And the size is perfect when you don't want to dig out your big rig and set everything up just to play in your living room. And if you put a mic on it, you can do pretty much anything with it. The headphone jack makes jamming when quiet is a necessary factor! Every guitar player, no matter your style, should have one of these in their arsenal. And the cost? It's about as affordable as it gets for all the quality you get. Get yourself one, or ten!

This is a great amp for practice or if you play somewhere you can’t make a lot of noise. I like the settings and different effects, without the amp being too gimmicky. Really nice sounds I heard some negative reviews about this company, but have nothing but good things to say so far! Great plans for a budget!

Nice practice Amp with plenty of drive. Don't know why Fender had to put the on/off switch in back of the amp right next to the power cord. Very dumb idea and hard to get at when the amp is against a wall. I may have to reroute a switch to the side or front somewhere. Otherwise its a winner.

Most of the features and details have been covered already in many of the earlier reviews so I won't repeat what is common knowledge.
I have owned many different brands, types, and sizes of amps in the last ~20 years (Mesa Mark 3, Marshall JCM800, Marshall DSL2000, Vox Nightrain, Orange Tiny Terror, Marshall DSL1HR, VHT Classic 6 Kustom 5h, etc. etc.) and this one holds it's own for it's size and price.
Currently I only play at home and this thing has a great sound quality with the stock 8" speaker. I think all the amp models and effects sound good for what they are.
For reference my current guitars are a Gibson SG Naked model with P90's, and a Squier Classic Vibe 50's Telecaster.

This amp has all the features you need and is super easy to use. Metal, British, gain, distort, reverb, bass, treble, everything. It's super light weight and has a fantastically clear sounds. The aux and headphone Jack's are an added bonus. Well worth the price and quality is high.

This is a great little amp! I like the built in effects and amp voices The amp offers the basic sounds all guitarists want.the voice nob offers blackface,tweed,British.and metal sounds and can be placed in between two sounds to create a blend.place the nob in between black face and distortion for a sweet sound! I've been playing since the 1960's, and in my book, small amps were all screetchy junk. And my main amp, an old Fender Bassman, doesn't sound good until it's loud enough to bother the neighbors. But this amp really fills the void. Gives a full, rich sound at low volume and is loud enough to casual play with my friends. The effects are really good. And I can go with the amp in one hand and my guitar in the other.

I just bought this amp in hopes of making practices easier on my aging back. The only concerns I had were will it be loud enough, and will it have a scrappy tone. I am very pleased to announce that neither was an issue. The amp sounds so strong, in fact, that I am considering using it for gigs and leaving my Fender twin or Fender Hot Rod Deville at home.
Hard to believe the value for the money this amp provides. The effects all sound great, as do the FOUR different voicing you can get with the turn of the dial.
Satisfied customer, and as always, AMS delivered it fast.

I bought this little Amp as a solution for not having to haul my half stack around all the time when it wasn't needed. I figured it would be okay, and the built-in effects would be sub-par. I was wrong, so very wrong! Not only can this thing perform as well as my low end Marshall head that I have, but the effects sound much better.
I would recommend this to anyone that needed an Amp loud enough for practice, and even loud enough to play to a small crowd with.

Lucky for me I was 18 in 1987 so I got to experience all of the great rock music. (Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Van Halen (David Lee Roth Years) And old enough to appreciate Deep Purple, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, and countless other bands including my love for blues. That being said after countless cheap amps in my teens I bought my first real amp, a Fender Frontman 25R in my early 20's. Wow that was a great amp. Then life changed and my guitar got put on a shelf. Now at 50 I decided to take it up again and bought a Champion 20. This amp is fantastic. Can reproduce any genre you want and the effects are fantastic. You can dial in any sound your looking for with this little amp and at volume 2 and gain 5 is plenty loud for practice with room to go much louder. The versatility of voices and effects at the price point is incredible. And very little hum fully distorted. Very happy with it.

It is a decent little practice amp. I wanted to try it out, since I didn't have a fender amp. As I expected it is better for blues and cleaner tones... I am more of a high gain type of player, so it didn't mesh with my style. I have since returned it, but if your style is what i mentioned above it would probably be great. The one I got did have a grounding issue on the instrument in connection.

Received the am this morning. Pleasantly surprised how quickly it got here. I let it set (impatiently) for a couple of hours to make sure it got to room temperature. At that point I plugged her in and let her fly. For a small amp it's kicking. Tried every possible setting and volume. Outstanding. I love the presents. For casual playing who needs a pedal box. I'm sure I'll enjoy her(she's definitely a girl the way she screams. Name is Irene) for many years. I wouldn't hesitate to bring her along to small parties.
Damn even my acoustic electric sounds good on her(her name is Blucille). Thanks again. I'm sure you'll be my new go to internet music store.

I have many stage amps from hot rods to the big Brit. Rock, Country, Gospel, I am involved in all. I use this to play with the band in our large church. The effects and models are spot on. I use the tremolo a lot in church. The sound man always tells me to turn this 20 watt 1x8 DOWN! Open back sounds big and I can put my cord, strap, tuner and little folding guitar stand in back and walk in with my case in one hand and the Champ in the other. If it had a line out it would have got 5 stars. If it had a 10" I would gig with it. I've had it over a year, no trouble.

If you started out playing in the '70's you will remember just how expensive it was to get a strong amp and then have to add on all the effects. Well, this amp has a load of effects that would run you hundreds of more dollars back in the good ole days. The different amp modelings are spot on. I use the Tweeds and British modes. I play my recently purchased from AMS Squier Tele through it. 5 string open G tuning. In a very short time I duplicated, to my ear, a very close approximation to Keith Richards sound heard on Exiles On Main Street and countless other tunes.

This amp is a great practice amp! You could plug an Acoustic/Electric, or Jazz Box into it for a "Dinner Music Gig"! I have been a local and Road Musician for 50 yrs. Classic Rock, Country! At Many Venues, [if you're a Working Musician], They, Bar Managers/Patrons, think that any amp or speaker that's Bigger than a Shoe Box, Is TOO LOUD! No Matter how Quiet ya Play!! This 'little Giant' gets the "SOUND, You're Lookin' For", at Civilized Volume. Gets the "Sound" Without Intimidating Drunk Old Geezers! Like Me!! LOL!

for the price this is a good amp. it basically is the mustang 1 without the bells and whistles. same amp models, but no usb port. frankly ive played both and I prefer the champion 20. it has a open back witch sounds better to me than the mustangs closed back witch sounds boxy to me. good bedroom amp. ive owned this amp for 5 mounths and no problems.

Your general opinion of this product.
Great overall, it does exactly what it should. It has a few selections for overdrive, I would recommend a pedal over using the amps built in distortion and effects. None the less it is still excellent.
it is made well, it does not look cheap like some other amps in its price range.
