Bob Davis from 90210
Quality:
This is a well built bass. When I first got it the setup was horrible. The strings were about a half inch off the fretboard. We had to crank the truss rod about 1 1/4 turns and it just came to life
Features:
Its a Jazz bass. Not a whole lot of features.
Sound:
Oh yeah this is THE sound. Whether you want a low boom or a midrange punch this bass will cover it. It has the grind sound that I have been looking for.
Playability and Feel:
The neck is wonderful.
Finish:
The paint is perfect. No blemishes that I have found
Action:
Out of the box it was not good. It took about 30 minutes to tweak it. It came right into a great playing bass.

Exactly what you would expect
Quality:
Very solid. Very nice finishings.
Features:
Extremely playable.
At this price point, it should come with a case though. Also, none of the usual swag was in the box, like a Fender catalog, sticker, etc. Silly thing to nitpick, but it's part of the fun of a new guitar.
Sound:
Excellent tone, even through my cheap bass amp
Playability and Feel:
Excellent neck, especially for someone who is really more of a guitarist than bassis.
Tone:
Very bright and crisp
Action:
Excellent, no setup was needed

This is a MIJ axe, and as such, the quality is VERY high. The woods are awesome, there were no dead spots on the neck, and the guitar was properly set up straight from the factory. I expect this axe to remain in my collection of daily played instruments for the rest of my life.
Features:
This guitar boasts re-issue '62 Vintage pups, a BadAss Bass II bridge, a lightning-quick super skinny neck, high-quality tuners, shielded cavities, top-end pots, an alder body and the 'boner' headstock. By way of basses, the weight is average (9 - 10 lbs).
Sound:
The sound on this guitar depends greatly on how you dial it in. You can achieve a huge range of tone and effect playing with the knobs. The one thing about this guitar that I'll spend a little time on here is the bridge. The Leo Quan BadAss Bass II bridge is incredibly heavy and made from a very dense material, resulting in an open e-string that sustains for nearly 3 minutes if you pluck it hard. For a bolt-on neck and not being strung through-the-body, that's ridiculous. The sustain on this instrument makes it worth purchasing, alone.
Playability and Feel:
This guitar is an absolute dream to play. Before I bought it, I did a lot of research on it. I read somewhere between 500 and 600 reviews on the Geddy and they all said the same thing: I've played basses costing twice as much as this one that do not perform half as well. Having played a couple of $2000 - $2500 basses, I can say with great confidence that this Geddy holds it's own with them, if it doesn't surpass them altogether. I went from an Ibanez GSR200 to this, and the difference between the instruments is night and day.
Tone:
I get comments about the tone of this instrument all the time. These pups, while looking mundane and ordinary, are ANYTHING but. The range of sound they deliver is astounding. Everything from the deepest thunk as you thumb-slap your e-string to the sharpest POP as you pluck your g-string comes through so true and rich you just have to hear it to believe it. Everything about this guitar screams "World Class Instrument".
Finish:
The finish on this guitar was flawless.
Action:
This axe needed no setup out of the box. The action is low, fast, and without any buzz at all. The neck is super skinny and super fast; Once you get used to it, you will be spoiled against all other basses.

I've owned it for a few months now and it does the job I need it to do well...so far. I've heard good things about the Japanese Fenders and have seen many players with this particular Jazz over the years.Word to mouth is what sold me and the fact that fender has been making this model for about 10 years helped also.
Features:
Basically because it's a Jazz Bass which for the price seems to be a decent deal. It seems very comparable to the American Standard Jazz for a couple hundred less. Fender should include a hardshell case instead of a gigbag which is my biggest complaint. The Baddass bridge is a nice addition.
Sound:
Great tone...nice beefy lows with good punch. I usually keep everything on the bass wide open and use an outboard eq to dial in. It sounds like Geddy Lee which to me cuts through the mix and also blends well with other instruments. It won't leave you hanging in the background.
Playability and Feel:
It's a very solid feeling bass, not top heavy, easy to use controls and the neck playability is probably the best thing about the bass. It's quick and easy to get around. I wouldn't recommend putting on strings larger than .45 - .100 since it is a thin neck especially at the heal where most of the tension is.
Tone:
I've not been a huge fan of the passive pickup but these are bright and snappy. You can hear every note register well unlike some passive pickups. There is some humming which is typical for those type but nothing too overbearing worth replacing and loosing that great Jazz tone.
Finish:
The finish seems fine although that is not why I purchased this bass. I play often and use my basses as a tool of the trade finish quality is not as important to me.
Action:
The action seemed fine out of the box in standard 440 tuning, but I had plans for this Jazz to be tuned to Eb and added a hipshot detuner for drop Db. Obviously I had the bass reset for that tuning and it plays great!

Quality:
Japanese made has always been a step above the above average.
Features:
Superlight, feels natural in your hands. Just feels right. Like I say, every guitar should come with a hard case. Geddy Lee is one of the most talented bass musicians.
Sound:
You can get anything you want out of it, with a little help from your amp of course.
Playability and Feel:
Very good. I like the weight. Neck is awesome, slim is in. Nice and easy.
Tone:
Pick it with the knobs. You'll find it. Nice snap. Hot
Finish:
Nice lite coat of finish. Fretboard is nice and slick, thicker lacquer. Nice to bend strings.
Action:
Super action. No Buzzing. Exc Intonation. Feels more like a guitar than a bass.
