General Your general opinion of this product. I have to put this review into perspective. I have had a '57 tweed Princeton (real, not reissue), a 65 Deluxe Reverb (the real one, not reissue), and now have a '58 tweed Harvard. In addition, I have a THD Bi- Valve, that has a much more musical and adjustable attenuation system. When I ordered this amp, it was with the intent of practicing more, and not disturbing my wife. However, all did not go as planned. My first concern with this amp, is that they don't tell you that there is no way to turn off the cool trem without buying the footswitch. Most amps you can disconnect the feature at the amp, or turn it off at the amp. But neither the Fender, nor the AMS web pages tell you that one must have the footswitch to cancel this effect. That is poor customer service. Secondly, the amp should have more dynamic range with different guitars. I was disappointed with the tone while using humbuckers, just too dark. Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? I really can't say much about this, as I have only had the amp for a few days. I can say that it has poor touch sensitivity compared to my other amps, and other vintage amps that I have owned and gigged with/ recorded with. I wish that this amp would get dirty earlier in the volume scale, and that there was a tone control, as it is too dark sounding for me. It sounded better with single coils than humbuckers, but that is a sign of a flawed design in my estimation. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? As above, I wish this amp had a tone control, and an on of twitch for the trem. on the amp itself. Really? one must have a footswitch for a 5 watt amp? Or even more silly, a footswitch for a 11/4 watt amp.? Come on, most likely, people will not be using this amp on stage. So why not just have an on off switch on the amp for the trem.? Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? This amp is a bit too dark in my opinion. It sounds much better with single coil pick-ups than it does with Humbuckers. I see this as a serious design flaw. Action How was the action out of the box? I couldn't get the trem to turn off, as I didn't order the foot switch. Neither the fender, nor AMS web Page say that one needs to by this footswitch to turn the effect off. This is a pain in the a.--. Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The tweed looks great. The tube panel set up looks well done. Reliability How has it stood up over time? Can't say, as I have only had the Amp for a few days.
Beautiful Sweet Fender Sound! Well worth the price tag!

Quality Would you consider this product to be made well? How dependable? The EC Vibro Champ is very well made. I own many amps of various quality, price doesn't always mean good quality. The EC Vibro champ quality was obvious right out of the box. Made to last for decades. The Solid Pine is light. This is a very well-constructed amp. Reliability How has it stood up over time? I have only owned mine for a few days. I am sure it will age like wine. General Your general opinion of this product. This amp is absolutely pro quality. I was hesitant to purchase because of the price tag. I was planning on not being impressed and returning it. =) I fell in love with this amp right out of the box. The build quality, the beautiful warm Fender tone. The tones you hear that come from this amp are very recognizable from your record collection. The tremolo is the best I have ever heard. I own a 65 Deluxe Reverb along with a Boss Tremolo. The EC Vibro Champ Tremolo pulses like I have never heard before. This amp has my creative juices flowing. The best way to compare it is professional quality all the way. This amp sounds larger than it looks. Well worth the price tag! This is a very very powerfull special amp. I'm lucky to own one. Playability and Feel How does it feel, Heavy, Fast, Chunky? How was the neck? Are the controls easy to get to while playing? Playing this amp is like sliding in to your favorite high end sports car! You get what you pay for and then some. This amp is larger than I expected in person based on picturs. Speaking of larger, the sound of this amp is much larger than it appears. Tone Bright and snappy? Dark and smooth? Were the pickups hot, mellow, thick, thin? The beautiful warm tone on this amp is instantly reconizable straight out of your record collection. It's so pure, so warm and so sweet all in one. When you crank it's overdriven limit it breaks up beautiful. You will hear Stevie Ray Vaughn and of course Clapton in this amp. You can get some great Twangy James Burton poppy country sounds. The tone from this amp will make you feel great about your playing! It sounds amazing. From crystal clear to twangy country, to dirty punk grunge. This is a tone machine! Finish How did the stain or paint job look? The lacqured tweed is so nice. Made to age like wine. The leather handle adds a lot of class to this little mircale of an amp. Very beautiful amp! Action How was the action out of the box? This amp was love at first sight right out of the box!
