Great clean sound - perfect for my portable recording setup

What is your overall opinion of this product?
The mechanical use of the interface itself is pretty straight forward. The routing interface is 'different', not bad, just different.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How well are the controls and connections laid out?
As others have mentioned, the routing does take a bit to figure out. But once you do, it all becomes clear and the routing is then a great added bonus and amazingly flexible.
Are the features on the product what you were expecting? What are your favorite features?
Great features, great preamps, sounds very clean. I use it to record live events and rarely need the capability to go past the 8 inputs it the unit has.
Did you get what you were expecting for the price? How does it compare to similar products in the same price range?
Great features for the price. I looked around A LOT and kept coming back to this model.
Fantastic interface, once you get past the routing.

What do you consider to be the best features of this product? What features would you add to this product if you could?
I feel the best feature of this unit is the massive amount of I/O. Aside from the 2 amazing liquid pres (my favorite so far is the Class A setting, which emulates a classic Neve pre), you have 6 great focusrite pres, 2 x ADAT in (16 chan @ 44.1-48kHz or 8 chan at higher sample rates as is standard) and the SPDIF (2 chan) and the loopback fuction which enables you to record sound from youtube or itunes or any other
sound that your computer makes into your DAW.
I particularly love this function. HINT: the loopback is excellent for recording sound effects off the internet for your project.
Ease of Use
How easy is this product to use? How easy is the product to use with other products? Did it take long for you to learn to use this product? Was the manual helpful? How playable do you consider this product to be?
wrapping my head around the rather counter-intuitive saffire mixcontrol was a bit annoying, but now that I have an understanding for it, I have no problems with it and actually find it useful.
Was this item an overall good value?
Aside from the liquid pres, I couldn't tell you why this unit is $1000. It is basically the same as every other 8 chan pre. The I/O is the possible
culprit, which is justifiable. I actually needed the 8 extra 1/4" outs on the back (4 stereo headphone mixes) though I'll probably never use the 2 provided headphone outs on the front. Overall, if you have this unit, you will love the sound, you will love the I/O options, you will love the look.
