My "big box store" power strip finally gave up on me so I replaced with the Furman SS6B. The first thing I noticed was the exceptionally long cord. This comes in handy and will often negate the need to add an extension cord, as it did at the first event I played with the power block. It's much more rugged than the average power strip and should hold up well over time. I should have purchased one years ago instead of going through 3-4 cheaper "plasticalated" power strips.

I own like 6 of these. They're convenient, clean on power, have a long cable, they're durable, and so much more. If you need to extend power for a band, stage, around the house, in a game room, whatever, this is a solid buy. I don't even consider other options anymore after 6-7 years worth of use from my oldest one.

I have been using these surge protectors for over 15 years I think. I am a sound man and use these 2-5 days a week. They are pretty rugged, but not indestructible. If you treat them correctly they will last a long time. I have owned maybe 20 of them over the years and have broken about 4 of them. Typical stuff - they get stepped on and the indicator light will break off. These are my main power supplies for any stage I'm working on. If you do not wrap the cable correctly it will spiral and warp. Always wrap over under. I love these for $25, but I have paid as much as $43 for some. (Covid). So watch for the sales. Price is really the only reason I did not give 5 stars. They are 5 stars at $25.

This is my third one if that tells you anything. I have one installed on my 40 inch pedal board. Another is running 6 amps. This baby is just to replace a cheap multioutlet that has been flickering for months. Super, super sturdy and the really long cord is a godsend. I'm a furm believer.

As a Mobile DJ a surge protector is critical. I usually run this Furman SS6 directly from the outlet to my DJ Set up. The 15Ft cord helps to eliminate an additional extension cord when I'm close to an outlet. I'm running to different power supplies and my amp off of this power conditioner and everything is so clean and quiet. I have 10 different types of pedals on the pedalboard I built and was having some trouble with some hum noise. I ordered this in hopes it would help. I didn't expect that it would do much. I have a few Furman M-8x series power conditioners I use for my outboard rack equipment and has worked flawlessly. I was having noise issues with my pedalboard and ordered the Furman SS6-B 2 pack after looking into the specs. It has taken care of my noise issue. FYI, The Furman M-8 series can be plugged into the SS6-B according to Furman support. I didn't want to try it until Furman support confirmed it. Thanks AMS for hooking me up.

I went shopping for a standard surge protector strip in the local electronics stores, and all were made of cheap plastic with components that appeared to be low quality with an average cord length of about 3 feet. All in the $35-45 price range. Then I checked out the Furman strip. What a difference. All metal enclosure with a very long power cord (I think it's close to 15 feet long). And the distance between the power receptacles was far enough that all of my corded power supplies plugged in with room to spare (unlike the cheaper strips where they were bunched up too closely to use more than half of them). I am very aware of Furman quality and reliability, having owned several of their signal processors over the last 40 years with never a failure. If you're buying a power surge strip to protect your expensive equipment, take the time to buy a reliable one and don't risk your electronics to the cheap stuff. And it wasn't really any more expensive!

I've owned and used one of these for years and it has never let me down. Not only does it protect my precious amps and effects against potentially damaging voltage spikes, but the EMI/RFI filtering helps reduce annoying hum at home and on the road. I don't trust my equipment to an extension cord or simple surge protector. I can rely on Furman.

The Furman name means quality power supply and conditioning. I keep my eyes open for the two-for-specials that run periodically on AMS. I have these at all of my computer stations. The 15' cord also comes in handy when powering up and moving video lights for the right spot. If your are running conventional lights instead of LED's, you will appreciate the thick 14 AWG cord. Furman turn the plugs on the at the bottom with the ground 1/4 turn and maybe turn the plugs closest to the on/off switch so maybe a wall wort plug would fit next to a regular cord and/or space saver cord. 100% happy with this purchase. I use it with my guitar Amplifiers for extra protection from surges. So far works great. I have noticed I now have no added noise in my sound. I have amps and effects plugged in with no problems at all. Great product, built like a tank, thick heavy steel. Even let's you know if your electric is not grounded properly. I recommend this with a conditioner to anyone building a dream rig. I will buy more as soon as I can afford.

This is the second one of these surge protectors I bought in the last year. I got tired of buying the cheap butt alternatives over, and over, and over again, and went with quality over quantity. I experienced an outage and surge in my home that took out smart lights, a router and a ceiling fan. Fortunately an amp, pc, interface and monitors were all plugged into one of these units and were all fine. I also noticed a lack of a/c "sag" I get when plugged directly into the wall wart crappy, antiquated system in my home lol. It must attenuate a little too? Dunno but 40 dollars saved me thousands so awesome

I purchased two of these to eliminate EMI/RFI for my gear. Does the job without breaking the bank. 15’ cable, to reach where you need it. The metal housing for the power block is solid, and built to handle so bumps and drops or road life in general. This item is built well and performs. This worked so well i am purchasing a few more for use in other rooms in my house. This offers a lower level amount of protection from power surges, compared to its bigger, and more expensive counterparts used to protect a large amount of gear. Still better than a cheap surge protector.

15 foot cord and 6 outlets make this a valuable on-stage problem-solver. I have 3 of these. Would give 5 stars if the cord was rubber and would lay flat. AS is, it retains shape (for a while.) Sometimes looks like a slinky got loose on stage! Tripping hazard. Still, there's nothing better available, so these are my favs.

I have 3 of these now and I get plenty of use out of them. They are built to last, very sturdy and the 15' cord is a huge bonus for my usage. I definitely heard a sound improvement with my Blackstar Ht5 and Marshall DSL40cr when switching from my cheap plastic surge suppressors. Those old suppressors are in the trash and I will only use these Furman's in the future. The price is outstanding for what you get and I picked up 2 of them on the 2 for Tuesdays at AMS for a great deal! I highly recommend these if you are on a budget but still want quality!

Got these on a Two-fer Tuesday Deal, thinking I would use one in the basement studio and one in my gig bag. And I was right! In the studio I am able to run the 15' cable from the outlets on the walls right to the middle of the room where the action is. On a rooftop gig I was able to run it out the window and power an active speaker PA system, bass rig, and my own stomp boxes. No fluctuation, hums, buzzes, nothing. Someone else commented that because of the direction the outlets face, you can't do wall warts. Not entirely true, the spacing between outlets allows for wall warts, but you can only fit 3 on one side. If you have 6 wall warts (and why would you?), this is not the box for you. Otherwise, this little black box takes the place of extension cords and sketchy power strips, plus it cancels hum from neon and fluorescent lights. Did I mention rock solid metal construction? If you get one, get two, you'll want them.

A power surge could wipe out a big investment in electric/electronic gear. I carry at least two of these surge protector power strips to gigs, to run power from different sides of the stage if needed. I have one at home in my "music room," protecting computers and other electronic equipment.
They're a little heavy and bulky, but provide plenty of room for NEMA plugs and even small wall-warts. Larger transformers might require an adapter to fit with other plugs on the strip.
I carry them in a milk crate with various extension cords and adapters, NEMA and IEC. Hoping I never have to find out how effective they are against a power surge.

I play in a Top 40 cover band with 5 members, and a large
P.A. and light show. I also have a DJ, and sound and lighting rental company. At many of my gigs I'm needing outlets for 4- 8 items in the same area at one time. The metal housing on the Furman SS6B Pro 6 makes it almost indestructable. The lighted on/off switch lets you know that you're plugging into a live power outlet. The greatest feature is the 15 ft. cable. 90% of the time I don't have to use an extra extension cord. I love the fact that it saves me time and effort on tear downs. I own 8 of these.

I already purchased one of these earlier this year and it has performed very well. I like that it has an indicator button to let you know it's working and I like the overall quality of the surge suppressor. It's very well made and I appreciate the peace of mind it gives me knowing that it's protecting my music equipment. I also like that the cord that connects to the wall is really long too, as some cords can be too short. The SS6B is great for solving power problems like a remote rack, as in my situation, or one each for several of them on a stage. Just enough outlets for that and a nice long cable. It's metal and strong and the outlets and indicator are solidly mounted. The toggle of the power switch is a bit wiggly but it doesn't seem to hinder it. I've been a Furman fan for decades but I've only had these a little while and I am quite sure that they'll be serving me well into the future. The cost was very good and reflects the simple design of the unit. I highly recommend these to help simplify your power in your stage or studio or even for use around the house. Rock on, eh!

I know that Furman is known for this concept of power conditioning. This is not one of those things -- those are like $200 or so.
This is a very well made, take years of abuse, help a little bit with dirty power maybe, and definitely protect against surges powerstrip.
Highly recommended if you've got the money and you are expecting power surges.
Not going to do the really fancy stuff though.

I noticed such a difference in the noise floor of my gear with this suppressor. My bass amp would sometimes hum in certain venues. This has completely rectified that problem. I have a considerable amount of money invested in gear and wind up plugging it into a lot of different power supplies. I plug into circuits that are often overloaded with other musicians gear. Anybody that does that without a pro level surge suppressor is in for a very bad day eventually. I have used Furman power handling equipment for years with no bad surprises.

It does the job, and with the long cord it eliminates the need for another extension cord. I just wish someone would create a multi plug that would easily accommodate several pedal adapters without any problems. If the plugs on this unit were to have both rows with the ground plug pointing outwards, it would be better. But overall this thing is pretty excellent.

Built to last and the 15 foot Heavy Duty cord is indispensable.

I've already bought four of these in the past few years because I find it to be very useful. The casing is made of metal which makes it very sturdy. Lighted on-off switch is a great feature. Power cables fit very snugly when you plug them into this power block. Its 15 feet long cable is very strong & thick making this surge suppressor perform its job quite well. It's very versatile. I've used it for DJing gigs & I use it regularly in Church for the sound system as well as at home for my electronics.

This power strip I made extremely well and feels like no other power strip I’ve ever bought. Besides our music gear we also use them for our computers, HDTV and HAM equipment. I trust them that much. I have several rack mount Furmans also. They are awesome! after many power outings and one lightening strike nothing has been damaged. For stage use I have played many venues with very questionable wiring (I use to be a licensed electrician). I would never leave home without them!

It's a Furman, so you know it's reliable. I own 4 of these now (multiple pedalboards) & haven't had a lick of trouble in 10 yrs. No noise, no nonsense power and I plug multiple DC wall warts in, in addition to the "big unit" (Roland GR's, Boss RC-300, etc) supplies, OneSpot Pros, even LED lights. It just works & you forget it's there. If I had to change anything it would be to have a version with a 2'cord and a female IEC receptacle for "building-in" power like a custom board, but I know not everyone is building their own due to having way too many floor-based fx, and it's a cheap, easy mod. If you need a surge protector power strip for your pedalboard, your computer gaming rig, whatever - just buy this one. It's built well, and will long outlast that crap they sell at the big box hardware/building material/tool stores.

Is not made as tough as it looks. The metal housing is a pretty thin gauge. But for the price this is a good surge protector. If you need AC filtering (and power conditioning) you have to step all the way up to a Furman AC215-A at $199. But these are better than any plastic surge protectors at this price point and the cord is super heavy duty,heavy gauge and the 15 length sure comes in handy for some stages.

I get so annoyed at the regular plastic 6 way extension cords when they tip over because they have no weight to keep them upright. This 6 way is very sturdy. It lays flat every time I use it and I have no fear of it breaking if it was to get dropped - metal case. Decently priced and well made.

The Furman SS6B is an excellent choice iwhen deciding on which power strip to get. I have used my original one on every gig for quite a few years. They are very well built to take a lot of stage abuse. They’re portable enough to wind up and drop them into your gig bag. The 15 foot cable is great for reaching far away power sources. Getting a 2 for 1 on these I couldn’t pass up. And don’t forget to buy one for the Bass Player.....

I already had one of these for the house, and when they went on sale I decided I'd pick up a second one for the stage. Since it has a 15-foot power cable, it can be plugged into power outlets that aren't close to your equipment without needing an extension cord in most cases, and this can keep your amp and effects on the same power circuit depending on the specifics of the stage, which will eliminate the chance of a ground loop. It also has protection from surges, as well as reducing EMI and RFI interference. I've had my guitar and amp pick up crazy Mexican radio stations at gigs before, and this will help to keep that from happening.

The lower outlets are positioned well to handle a wall wart, and not take up space that blocks another outlet. I bought one of these from a local shop a few months back, and liked it soo much I decided to get 2 more. AMS had a 2 for 1 sale on these and I took up that offer. I've used Furman Power Conditioner Rack mounted units before, and loved the protection I got from them, and knew I'd get the same level of protection in a housing that I can plug my amps and pedal board power supply's into. Awesome product at an easily affordable price!

I’d been wanting a couple of these for a while, and just by chance they were part of a “Two-for-Tuesday” promotion, and I got them for a steal. As many have stated before, I wish the two rows of outlets faced opposite of each other instead of all facing the same direction. I knew this when I bought them though, and for the price I can’t complain. Very sturdy build, long power cable (finally!) and a couple of filters (whether they actually do anything or not remains to be seen). Good stuff!

Bought this when AMS was having the 2 for 1 sale. Immediately upon switching from the household strip I was using, the buzz went away from my PA. I have high end gear....Bose L1S model 2, pedal board with Keeley, Baggs, Cochran, Voodoo, and Boss equipment. Really needed to upgrade my power supply. This unit is well made and I expect a long life from it. The only change I would have made is for the outlets to mirror each other instead of all facing the same way.

Wanted to upgrade from a old plastic power strip. Used the Furman unit for the 1st time at an outdoor gig last night. It worked great and the 15 foot cord is much more convenient than the 6 foot cord on on my previous unit. The Furman seems to be heavy duty with a high quality cord.

It's great because it's made for stage use, unlike household surge supressors. It's built tough to stand up to road use (can be mounted) and the outlets are positioned so they can all be used at once! The long cord is especially useful.

We have purchased several of these units. They are well-built with a sturdy metal shell. The 15' power cable is just right to reach wall outlets that are not near the performance area. We run all of our audio equipment on three of these units. One for each powered speaker stack and one on the mixer rack. With our powered speakers, monitors, lights, etc, we always needed more than the four outlets on our previous drop boxes. We would have to use a power splitter to add outlets, but that looked cheap. We tried smaller 6-outlet power strips, but they were cheap and tended to tip over. The built-in conditioning, on the Furman units, is quiet. One bar always gives us trouble with noisy power through our speakers. We are hoping this will fix the problem the next time we play there.

Extremely well made, I expect this to last for years and years.
It is in a metal enclosure that is heavy enough to roll a truck over, and it has a 15' cord, so it has some reach that regular 'plug strips' don't have.
A Snap. It's an outlet box, not much room for user error here.

This surge block is reliable and dependable; made solid.
I love the way the outlets are faced. Placing them side by side makes it easier to use different power supplies adn so forth and it gives yo the space to use all of your outlets, instead of skipping one to make room for something else.
The Furman brand has always been reliable in regard to power management. It is as simple as plug it in and go to work.
This is a good value for the money.

I think that it is well constructed. Not sure how they could build such a sturdy metal box for the money.
I had hoped that it would do a little better job with the RFI/EMI isolation but for the money it was well worth it.
Not sure that a more expensive power conditioner would have solved the problem I am having anyway.

The AMS website is very well organized for making purchases and in my opinion, as a developer, it is a very efficient online ordering system.

For those of us who do not use a rack system, this is the answer to great power conditioning. The 15 ft. power cord allowes you to reach distant recepticals and hide plug-ins behind stage gear to obtain a clean stage presence. Filters keep away beer sign hum. GREAT!
Just plug it in,then plug in your equipment. Simple but effective.
Best deal I've run across for this type of gear. Huge bang for the buck.

Case and plugs are very sturdy. Nice thick cable.
Nice long cable gets this box anywhere easily. It lights up so you know it's working with a glance. Outlets spaced sufficiently far apart so you can plug wall-warts into it. Location of the switch is a little too close to the first row of plugs. Bass players with fat fingers could accidentally switch it off while plugging stuff in, so plug everything in first and THEN turn it on!
Just plug it in - no operating instructions necessary.
Compared to the crazy prices out there for similar protection, this is an outstanding value.
