I installed it in my 93 Gibson SG Custom Shop in the neck position and it sounds amazing. Also going to buy a classic plus for the bridge. Can't go wrong with these bad boys.

Replaced the Epi pickup in my Sheraton 2 in the neck. Tone is much cleaner. Epi pup not that bad if I hadn't purchased a LP Tribute with Gibson 57 Classic I would have been happy with it.

Best Humbucker in the Business

this pickup is built from the best components and to the highest standards, consistently, from pickup to pickup.
this pickup is built to last forever.
Your general opinion of this product.
the Gibson 57 Classic pickup is, in every consideration, the highest quality humbucker pickup around. the balance of power and tonality is second to none. even rolling back the volume knob doesn't diminish its flavor.
unlike most other humbuckers, with the 57 Classic you can hear the results of different attack techniques on the guitar stings. nothing is lost or unavailable.
the pickups reproduce guitar sounds that other pickups inherently loose, particularly in the neck position. it carries the lower frequencies with audacity, definition and clarity and is very touch responsive. there is plenty of power for awesome sustain, yet totally without the sacrifice of tone.
the gold plating on this pickup is flawless.
basic two wire pup - installation doesn't get any easier than this, and there's no need for fancy wiring tactics to find a decent sound as it's already all in there, built into the pup, just waiting for you.

All Les Pauls should have '57 Classics

Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
Excellent quality.
FEATURES:
Far sweeter tone than a 498T or 490R. Doesn't generate annoying microphonic feedback; gives that nice harmonic feedback when used with a Les Paul plugged into a Marshall 50-watt JCM800 head.
EASE OF USE:
Not difficult to install. Just a shielded wire. Solder the shield to the volume pot case and solder the lead wire to the volume pot terminal. That's it. Not a 4-wire pickup for use on guitars with coil splitting switches.
VALUE:
Great value. Makes your $300 SG copy sound like a $2,000 guitar.
SOUND:
I've got 57 Classics installed on two Gibson LP 59 flametop reissues, a Gibson LP Studio, an Ibanez "lawsuit" Rocket Roll Flying V and a '77 Ibanez Les Paul copy. Very sweet tone even at low volumes, and still roars at high volume.
STYLE:
rock, bossa nova
