I play professionally, have been for forty years
all metal grover tuners came with my jazz guitar
a gibson Es 175,but I was looking for a more vintage tone.these tuners accomplish the tone that
I was looking for,the sound of these tuners is very
mellow and well rounded and are original to the tuners found on vintage gibson ES 175s made in the 60s and 70s I am currently using It On a 2017 Es175
and all that is required is to start one add'l hole
in the guitar to give it its original appearance and sound quality my guitar now has the vintage tone I was looking for many thanks to american musical supply for stocking this excellent product

Chrome tuners came on my Gibson classic SG I put these on instead now it really looks classic and these tuners work fantastic totally stays in tune always I'm putting them on my LesPaul classic

I have these tuners on my Gibson. They didn't work well, so I replaced them. When I did, I saw that they were stamped "P.W." on the bottom. They are made by Ping-Wells, a Taiwanese company with factories in China. Apparently, Ping also makes Gibson bridges and tailpieces; Gibson doesn't make it's own hardware. I think Klusons (made in Korea) and Gotohs (made in Japan) are better. Also, there are US made bridges and tailpieces made by Kluson and others. Gibson makes great guitars, and the electronics are usually first rate too. I don't know why Gibson puts its name on cheap, import hardware.
